A Must-Have For Bryan Adams Fans
THIS REVIEW IS FOR "BRYAN ADAMS RECKLESS" ON BLURAY AUDIO ONLY.Bryan Adams' Reckless was originally released back in 1984. It was the biggest selling album for Bryan, and produced 6 hit singles. "Run To You", "Somebody", "Heaven", "Summer Of '69", "One Night Love Affair", and "It's Only Love".A&M Records has released the album on BluRay disc as audio only in 2.0 stereo and 5.1 surround mix. First I want to say that the 5.1 surround mix is fantastic. The 5 channel separation is clean and very noticeable. An audiophiles dream mix.The album is a must-have for any Bryan Adams fan. Includes 17 tracks, but the first 10 songs only are in 5.1 surround, and the 7 bonus cuts are in 2.0 stereo only. Let me explain it this way.......When the disc first loads up, the first thing you see is the album cover pic and a choice of selecting between 2.0 Stereo, or 5.1 Surround mix. Now here is the weird part. If you select "5.1 Surround", the next screen offers just the first 10 tracks of the album which include.....1. One Night Love Affair2. She's Only Happy When She's Dancing3. Run To You4. Heaven5. Somebody6. Summer Of '697. Kids Wanna Rock8. It's Only Love9. Long Gone10. Ain't Gonna CryThe above 10 songs are available in...PCM 5.1 (96KHz/24bit)Dolby TrueHD 5.1 (96KHz/24bit) and..DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 (96KHz/24 bit)All three sound the same to me They are all the same mix and 96KHz/24bit.---------------------------------------------------Now if you go back to the first page and select 2.0 Stereo, you get the following.....1. One Night Love Affair2. She's Only Happy When She's Dancing3. Run To You4. Heaven5. Somebody6. Summer Of '697. Kids Wanna Rock8. It's Only Love9. Long Gone10. Ain't Gonna Cry-----Plus 7 Bonus Tracks----11. Let Me Down Easy12. Teacher, Teacher13. The Boys Night Out14. Draw The Line15. Play To Win16. Too Hot To Handle17. RecklessThe above 17 songs are available in only 2.0 stereo, but at high resolution audio. You can pick from....PCM 2.0 Stereo (96KHz/24bit)Dolby TrueHD 2.0 Stereo (96KHz/24bit)DTS HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo (96KHz/24bit)So if you just want to listen to the original 10 "Reckless" album songs in 5.1 surround, then select "5.1 SURROUND" on the first page.If you want to hear the same 10 "Reckless" album songs, plus the 7 additional bonus tracks in 2.0 stereo, then select "2.0 STEREO" on the first page. That's right, the 7 bonus songs are only available in the 2.0 stereo mix. I really love the album, but those 7 songs only in 2.0 stereo was a bit of a disappointment. They do not mention that part on the pics of the album covers or in the description on the product page.It is still worth it for the ten 5.1 mixes in high resolution audio, and even the bonus tracks are in high resolution as well and sound fantastic. On screen graphic continuously shows a pic of the album cover, the song title currently playing, and you can select any of the other songs from the list at any time. At the bottom of the screen, you can select which of the PCM, Dolby or DTS audio mode you wish to hear. You won't be disappointed. This is Bryan Adams best album ever.

The way it sounds
I grew up listening to Bryan Adams so it's only natural that I would give him a thumbs up. He's just an outstanding musician. What else can I say. I'm just glad that there is variety out there. Not everyone is going to like every musicians taste, but everyone has the right to choose what they like, and I respect that as long as they respect my choice. This album is amazing and truly a time piece for the archives.

Got my first six string...
It was the summer of '84. if you had your radio on, chances were that one of the 10 songs on this album was playing. Bryan Adams hit mega-commercial paydirt when "Reckless" dropped six hit singles and 2 major album tracks, eventually selling over 7 million copies. It's also a watershed peak of songwriting for Adams and his partner Jim Vallance. If you need a primer is what constituted a hit 80's rock album, "Reckless" (and to a lesser extent, Adam's prior album Cuts Like a Knife) offer it up. Tightly constructed songs with huge hooks, like "Summer Of 69" or "Heaven." Put in a duet with it-rock comeback queen Tina Turner, "It's Only Love." Add an encore-ready stadium shouter, "Kids Wanna Rock." And make sure that two pop-rockers have sufficient polish to sound safe but urgent on the top-forty radio, the brilliant "Run To You" and catchy "Somebody."Adams hit all the marks on "Reckless," but he has done few songs to match "Summer of 69." A perfect slice of Springsteen (who was also then massively popular with Born in the U.S.A.) growin' up rock, it's one of those records that both marks a moment and defines it. Also very close to that level of perfection was "Heaven," a love ballad that Adams would eventually nail with "Everything I Do" and "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman." But it is the fact that "Reckless" works as a whole album that makes this Adam's most memorable work. Between this and his many greatest hits collections, there's not many other ways to get such a dead-on overview of Bryan Adam's world of rock.
