Alanis Morissette defined the alternative female Pop sound in the '90s, with a string of hits under her belt from the million-seller albums Jagged Little Pill (1995) and Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (1998). in 1999 she performed a selection of personal favorites live at MTV Unplugged, with an emphasis on the non-hit material from the Supposed album. Morissette wanted to prove she's more than 'just' the hits she produced, resulting in her daring step to not perform some of her contemporary hits including "Thank U" and "So Pure". MTV Unplugged shows a multi-faceted artist, fully grown into her own and strong as ever. Original vinyl copies are extremely hard to find.

Terrific LP of a MTV unplugged classic.
The Unplugged series was wonderfully produced. This is one of my favorites, as were Nirvana and 10,000 Maniacs and Neil Young.

unique find, great sound
I absolutely love this album. I love it especially, in vinyl. What a great find. I love live acoustic music. This is absolutely her best work and there are a few songs that I like better, in the acoustic version. I love the vocal sound of this album. I literally opened this as soon as it was delivered. I couldn't wait to listen to it. I recommend this. I recommend the seller. My item shipped and arrived the next day, and I'm not a prime member. #satisfied

Alanis at her absolute best.
I gave this collection 5 stars because, though there may be better studio recordings of her work, this represents Alanis at her very best: performing songs that flex her vocal and songwriting abilities. The instruments were superiorly micd and the sounds were mixed wonderfully in post performance to give the songs a studio quality while holding on to the organic live sound.I must confess that I am not her biggest fan. However, this collection won me over and remains among my favorites.

great album
I was never a big fan of her music when she was popular but I bought this album because I love live acoustic music and I love variety. This album does not disappoint. She has some really great song that never got radio playing time, at least not to my recollection, and she sings very passionately. Overall, very enjoyable ... glad I got it.

Excellent CD!
This is an excellent set of AM from MTV - great compilation of her work (watch some of these live on U-tube). Intimate setting so you don't get the type of echo etc. from the venue you usually get from large scale live performances. This is very "listenable" even if you are not typically a fan of live performances. Highly recommend!
