Review: Works as advertised - I bought a 5 volt DC12 amp USB powered fan to use with this thermal switch. It was very easy to cut the wires and add this switch into the line. This switch with the plastic wrap fit snugly between the cooling fins on my solar charge controller. And the fans turned on as expected.

**Q: Will this work with 12VDC?**
A: 250 volts it the maximum voltage allowable due to insulation used. It is a simple switch, so it will work with any lower voltage, AC or DC. 5 amps is the maximum allowable amperage due to contact and conductor design. Do not use for 10 amps, as suggested by another answer, at any voltage, as the unit will overheat.

**Q: What is the lowest voltage this bimetal temperature control switches will work at?**
A: Virtually zero (but if you're going really low, check the total circuit impedence) it's just a passive switch.. you either get electrons or no electrons.

**Q: at what temperature does the 40 Deg C thermal switch reset (goes from closed to open)?**
A: It appears to reset around 35°C.

**Q: What is the recommended way to mount the thermo switch to the refrigerator fins to control a vent fan? Are there any clips available?**
A: i used a zip tie
