The Big Book on Auto Detailing Paperback – May 14, 2013

For most of my 65 years I have collected or driven new cars, classic cars and trucks while spending a considerable amount of hours cleaning, polishing, detailing or restoring to show room quality with fairly good results but note, lots of elbow grease and lots of rubbing or buffing kept me very busy over the years. A few years ago Mr. Dumond detailed one of our new daily drivers and one of our show cars and what would normally take me hours upon hours to do he just breezed through them with outstanding results that seemed too last much longer than many of my old products or processes. Finally I called Mr. Dumond and asked if he had a list of products and various processes to make life a little easier on the clean and shine process? Instantly he replied The Big Book On Auto Detailing authored by Mr. Dumond was available and all the information I needed to keep everything not just looking good but looking great! Mr. Dumond was correct and once I purchased and read the book, figured out the processes I needed for each car the show awards and trophies started happening on a regular basis! Thank you Mr. Dumond it makes life a little easier for the old guy and his rides.

A great book for the person starting a detailing business

The book is for people who want to know more about Detailing on a higher level and who might want to get into a home-based Business.

This looks good but it isn't, is not an 'in depth guide' as it proclaims. It has no index in the back to look up a key word and find where it is at in the book. Free info on the net is better than what this book offers. If you are looking for a good detail book, I suggest anything by Mike Phillips or John Pfanstiehl.

Very very basic and a lot of useless information. As an example one page tells you how to setup a canopy to cover the car while working on it. Really. There is some value in the book but it is hidden in a lot of useless information. Another example was the had a part on setting up to do the work. How to setup your chemicals. I want to know what it takes to make my car look the best not the logistics to what it takes to prepare to detail my are or make money are. It should have been called. A book for starting a car detail service for dummies.
