Mixed bag of emotions.
I have mixed opinions on this CPU... I did SOME of the research (lol). The cpu is about 7%-12% faster than the fx 8350 and only certain mombo’s can run it (I have one of them). It uses a bit more electric and runs a bit hotter... for $99... I made the leap. After I got it, before I installed it, I decided to read people’s opinions on it, instantly having buyers remorse. People said it’s incredibly power hungry vs the processing output, AMD actually recommends 1000 watt psu (I have a 750 watt), runs incredibly hot! So, great... gotta drop more money to get this thing running smoothly. reviews, people stated it ran fine with 750 watt psu, ok, so ill run mine, if it burns up, it burns up.... whatever :/.After I installed it.... F*** all the haters, lol. I love this thing, its a beast! Totally worth the $! My PSU runs it just fine(for now) and my EVGA 240mm CLC keeps it cool as hell. I have ZERO regrets after gaming with it! If I burn up my PSU, ill gladly upgrade it.Update: after a month of gaming with this cpu... Normally my electric bill is around $37-$40 a month. Considering everyone says is electric hungry CPU, I expected a slight increase... My bill was $34. I made 0 changes to my life style... So, this CPU might be a power hungry pig, but I see no changes in my electric bill.

Great perfomance for the price!
Honestly, I haven't used an AMD processor in years. I used to be one of those elitists that always had to pay the extra money for the best performance. Recently I wanted to upgrade my computer and figured I would try out AMD since the price on this was recently lowered, and not much a performance difference than Intels 4770k.I honestly can say it performs great for what I need it to do. I am by no means an electronics engineer, so I can not attest to all the spec differences or draw backs, but I do enjoy playing PC games, and I have not had any issues with this one. I also got that ASUS Crossfire Formula-Z and a R9 290x, and I have not had any issues on performance. In fact I am tempted to upgrade to a 120hz monitor due to the fact that there is only a few games where the frames per second drop below 60hz. Over clocking is easy and simple, though I wasn't able to squeeze too much extra power due to running an air cooling setup. From what I researched, AMD does not plan to release any new FX series chips out for a while. But considering the new next generation consoles run AMD as well, I do expect a lot of the new games to be AMD optomized. Which should mean I hopefully won't need to upgrade anytime soon.If you are looking for a solid performer, consider this product. It seems there are a lot of arguements for and against it, but I am happy with it over all.

Great, not for beginners.
Pros: Incredibly fast, very reliable, and the cooling is not nearly as nightmarish as I was lead to believe, provided you have an adequate cooler. I purchased a Seidon 120M with it, but any 120mm liquid cooler would likely be sufficient. It runs at 20-30C under normal usage. and has spiked no higher than 53C when gaming. All in all, I very much like this CPU, especially for the price.Cons: Installation and initial tweaking can be very tricky. First off, you have to use an aftermarket CPU cooler, and with very few exceptions, there are no air coolers that will keep it running within safe temps under load. That means liquid cooling is a must. On the up side, closed loop CPU coolers are nearly as sinple as aftermarket air coolers these days, and very effective. The one very odd issue i had with this CPU, that was in part because of my motherboard, was that my ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z decided it needed to be overclocked by default. So just a word of caution for ASUS motherboards, check your BIOS before loading up your OS for the first time.

High Efficiency for the Price
This is the best CPU I have used. It is fast and efficient for the price. As the specifications state, liquid cooling is required. I have an Enermax LIQMAX II 120S on mine. It is setup as the picture shows, one fan pulling the air and one pushing it. Even so, the processor has heated close to max.I am using this CPU with ASUS AM3+ M.2 USB3.1 SafeSlot AMD ATX Motherboard (TUF Sabertooth 990FX R3.0) and 2 sets of G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory F3-1866C9D-16GXM. From the moment I press my power button to the moment I can use my computer is about 24 seconds, literally.Loading the same software, firmware, etc. on my build from last year took about 3 minutes. That one had AMD FD8320FRHKBOX FX-8320 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition Processor, 2 sticks of 1600, and I forget what model the motherboard was. Both builds are using the exact same 960GB SSD from PNY. That being said, this processor has helped to create a huge improvement.
