3pin Power to 4pin molex Adapter

I have an old 200mm Antec fan with a molex cable that was incompatible with a modular PSU that I had lying around (I couldn't find the molex power cable that came with the PSU). This adapter allowed me to plug the fan into the fan controller that came with my case. Now the fan works, so problem solved!

If you're using SilenX Thermistor fans for your computer, you should not need this cable by any means, since those fans need full power at all times, which can come straight from your power supply! So do order your fans first, check for manuals, and only then order this such adapter!This cable works... if you need a connection from a molex plug fan to either your motherboard or a fan controller. I have hooked up a 60mm molex fan to a controller and had no problems. I would also not hesitate to use this for plugging a fan into a motherboard's voltage-controlled fan header (the "Chassis Fan" header).I would not recommend this if you want to see your fan's RPM thru your motherboard software... instead, you should consider buying a different fan, since the type of fan that can be adapted with this cable doesn't usually have the 3rd or 4th wire necessary for things like RPM detection or pulse-width modulation.

It works great, wish the wires were a little longer but is just what I needed.

I ordered 5 of these for connections between a Lamptron Touch Fan Controller, and an H100 Corsair w/4 Cougar PWM fans in push-pull configuration (to address the infamous grinding noise of the H100). 4 of these cords were fine. One cord however had its grounding wire pulled out of socket, and when I tried to connect it to the molex, I couldn't get it to hold in place, so I never could make the connection.Stupid me I didn't try to return it until past the deadline of July 31, so no refund (even though it's so cheap). But, b/c of this matter, I couldn't make all the connections that I wanted to originally, and now need to order an additional cord to make all the connections. I know some techy's out there might have some solution that I could have fixed this with soldering or some other gypsy voodoo witchcraft, but I'm not that sophisticated, I can plug stuff in, but I don't want to be messing with chemicals or anything else that may add to my "fixer upper" list :-).So TLDR: serves its purpose, but construction is cheap, so 4 out of 5 ordered worked.

This cable converter does what it’s intended to do, no jumpers, no other extensions or cables needed to use this cable. It made a few fans I thought were garbage useable in my current pc

I have an AZZO Solano 1000 case for my new computer which included 5 fans. 2 of these were 3-pin standard fan connectors and the other three were 4 pin Molex connecors without a tachometer cable (2 wires were connected to the Molex). I could connect the 3 pin cables straight to my motherboard without a problem using PWM. However, the other 3 fans as is I could only connect to Molex power outlets from the Power Supply Unit, causing them to blow at a constant speed. I wanted variable speed on these fans controlled by the motherboard.Bless this adapter! It converted my 4 pin Molex connections to 3 pin fan connections. I bought some 3 pin fan extension cables and plugged my fans into the motherboard (ASUS 97-PRO) which now controls my fans by DC output. THANK YOU to whoever made these - I had a hard time tracking them down. Highly recommended.

Did what it was supposed to do. I used this to add a fan to my computer case.
