So I recently bought a set of really nice Bose bluetooth headphones. I figured it should be no problem finding a bluetooth soundbar to use with my TV. Um, I don't get it, but apparently NOBODY makes a soundbar with bluetooth that will connect to a headset--they will receive bluetooth from a phone, but apparently nothing transmits--I spent a day and a half researching, called Samsung, which assured me their soundbar would do what I wanted, only to discover--after I purchased and set it up and called AGAIN--that no, none of theirs will work that way. Apparently some TVs will do that, but I wasn't yet in the market to spend a couple grand for a new TV.I've used bluetooth receivers before bluetooth speakers were readily available and inexpensive, but never used/needed a transmitter. I finally found THIS lovely little item--which does BOTH (only one at a time, but I really only needed the transmitter). I also had to pick up a Toslink splitter, as well as a dual USB adapter (to plug in both devices--the splitter and the transmitter). It took me about 15 minutes to make all the necessary connections, and I held my breath as I tried (in vain the first couple of tries) to connect it to my headset. (I think I wasn't putting it into pairing mode correctly the first couple of times).And it WORKS--beautifully! There is a VERY slight latency (probably some on the transmitter end and some in the headphones, but it isn't enough to bother me--I only notice if I REALLY look closely. It's small and light, and I wound up taping it with electrical tape to the back of my TV (which is mounted on an extendible arm mount with no wires visible). I was afraid that might cause interference, but none that I could detect. It's so small that if I had to, I could set it on top of the frame or even put it on the wall, but this seems to be fine for now.Another nice feature--it comes with an ACTUAL instruction booklet--nicely produced and bound. It also comes with a USB cable, a set of RCA connectors and a standard audio cable, as well as a nice, flexible optical cable, so you should be able to use it with whatever configuration you need. And to top it all off, it comes packaged as nicely as an Apple device. You really get the sense that this company wants to impress.I'm hopeful that it will serve me well until I'm ready to replace the TV. But at the price, even if it dies after a year, it's a bargain.

I will correct if I am advised that the non-support of aptx HD in RX mode, is in error, and shown how to enable it for Android Pie 9.0 which supports it.But in RX mode, it only connects in basic aptx, 16bit, 44khz. Very disappointing. Severely compromises what I bought it for - adding bt to my expensive wired headphones temporarily when necessary.8/25/2019 - Received confirmation from Boltune support that aptx HD is unsupported in RX mode:"Dear friendThanks your reply, and i am sorry, i just asked my Engineer for this problem,And he told me it not support aptx HD in RX mode,Sorry for this."Update 9/10/2019 - I initially gave this 1-star, as I was quite annoyed when I found the above to be correct, as the unit was purchased expecting RX aptx HD. However, in retrospect, I have not found anything else close to it's $17 cost that even does RX basic aptx, which it does. So if you have a bt source that does basic aptx, it's going to be better using this than something else that only supports the woeful default sbc codec. So I am raising to 3-stars. It is worth $17 - no question.My current use is for a bt 'front end' for a Monoprice Liquid Spark headphone amp, driving SHP9500 phones. This beats, by far, any bt headphones I have ever heard. Remember, all bt headphones are severely compromised by their built-in amp - even when they support an aptx codec. With the Boltune/Monoprice/SHP9500 setup, you will get most of the performance of your wired phones - particularly undistorted robust Bass. I use it with my Moto 6, which will utilize it's basic aptx capability, and with a firestick for tv. Even though the firestick only supports sbc, it's still better than using any bt headphones to the firestick - and I have tried a number of them.Not convinced? Compare, say Jimmy Cliff 'Best of Jimmy Cliff' on Any bt headphone with my Boltune/Monoprice/shp9500. No comparison..None..9)10/2019Seller has decided to gouge price at $26! Hold back - $17 is ok, $20 is ok. Stop gouging like this and do not buy at $26
