The Secret Founding of America: The Real Story of Freemasons, Puritans, and the Battle for the New World (America's Destiny Series Book 1)

Secret Founding of America
I will rate this book as a "5", although I have not read it all yet-only skimmed through it. But what I've seen looks to be real intriguing and yields the truth about two factions involving the 'founding of America'. I have visited the "old Jamestown" a few years back and was impressed by the tour quide's words and stories. A physical walk and "feel' of that area allows one to actually visualize how difficult it had to be to survive that first year in America, The most stupid thing was to 'arrive' near winter instead of having a living spring and summer to acclimate in. I could actually "sense" all those vibrations from that time frame including the Indian influence who still cry out to be both heard and understood. I 'HUGGED SEVERAL TREES' and transposed my energies and feelings as best I could. You may dispute this action but it is still a LIVE place there that needs to be thanked and appreciated. Virginia is about the best physical locale you could actually arrive at in a strange new country compared then to the highly populated countries of England and Europe. It offered great soil, lumber, fuel, fishing and water travel as well as decent weather then.Freemason persons were certainly the underpinnings involved in the new adventure and had been formulated over a long period of time. This book takes off the outer coatings of those who got the historical glory against those who didn't. No matter, we are now AMERICA. I must get back to finishing this good story.

Real History
This book really explains the real history of the United States and the world. Its unlike many of the conspiracy theories out there which may not back up much of what they claim. This book describes much of the hidden history of the United States in detail. Much of this information has seldom been heard before. The first parts of the book are a bit tedious though they provide much of the background for the formation of Freemasonry in the United States. Once past the first parts, though the book is a real pleasure to read.

Important; Insightful; Imperfect
Nicholas Hagger is a wonderful writer, whose works I have only recently discovered, and yet have thoroughly enjoyed. Here, he takes on the very important topic of the freemasonic founding, development, and current status of the United States of America. And he does so in a manner that is both wonderfully entertaining and extraordinarily insightful.Hagger's thesis is essentially that the elite who founded America, and have ever since run her, hide behind a Christian veneer their duplicitious masonic agenda. He proves this conclusively, with meticulous documentation, and truly admirable style. With Hagger, I always seem to have a couple points of contention. And this excellent work is no exception. Early on, he succombs, I think, to stock anti-Catholic propaganda in his description of early Catholic Florida. And his final statement reflects a certain sympathy with the notion of a One World Government, so long as that entity is animated by the "Light". Yet, these departures from sound logic and revelation do not significantly detract from the overall excellence of this very important and insightful book. I recommend this book strongly to anyone who would understand the true nature of American history and the contemporary influences on American governance. And I look forward to absorbing still more wisdom from this really quite excellent expositor.

Interesting at first
It's an OK book since I only payed one cent for it. This book feels very scripted and the author lost interest in writing it half way through. He introduced historical figures very poorly and seemingly out of context in many places. There are many truth in this book - but many plain false and misleading things as well.Overall it's interesting because he sums up some historical events which led to the founding of the united states. This is why I gave it 3 stars... but other than that it feels rushed and poorly written. Of course he gives you only a somewhat true alternative history - and dismisses that "august body" he at least quoted at the beginning almost entirely. If you can read between some of the conspiracy lines you may get something out of this book.

great book!
very informational. He has a very non biased view on the beginnings of the United States. He avoids the conspiracy theories with factual knowledge. I have read other books on the FreeMasons, but this one reveals all sides of their society and explains the direction they wish to travel. A definite read for anyone interested in secret societies and how it is tied in with the founding of north america.

The Secret Founding - big claims, insufficient referencing
I'm sure that some of what Mr Hagger says has some kind of truth in it, but if you are going to make such controversial points then it would really help if the references to those points include authors / sources other than yourself. Time and time again, when a major point is made, i turned to the index to find only that the author has referenced these arguments to his own previous work. What is the point of doing so?It is shoddy scholarship, lazy and presumptuous - also probably done to sell more of the author's own books. What would be more helpful would be accurate description of original sources other than Mr Hagger himself.Shame because otherwise its an interesting book, with a fairly clear writing style, and some points which if referenced properly would be very significant when considering the part masonic organisations played in the founding of the USA.As it stands though the only thing justifying the purchase of this spurious and improperly conducted study is the price (currently virtually nothing either used or new).

A great adventure.
This book is a great read, it's an attention getter, keeps you wanting to read more. It's an adventure as you discover what the author is revealing, even though you might allready know some things about the information that is being released...
