LEGO DUPLO Big Pirate Ship (7880)

This was purchased as a Christmas present for my 4 year old girl. Huge wow factor right out of the box! This toy is impressive. Huge, very well made, really beautiful, full of detail, such as a working canon, funny characters, plank, fire, etc. Being a Duplo product, there a lots of possible configurations, for tons of fun and hours of imaginative play. The toy is easy to put together, not as intimidating as the Lego toys for older kids (and won't result in hundreds of pieces throughout the house). Pieces snap together easily. Her 6 year old brother enjoys it just as much. They've also brought it in the water (bathtub) although the ship fills quickly with water from the wheelwells and sinks right away. The kids now only take some of the accessories in the bath with them. Highly recommended.

My 5 year old loves this ship! He put it together faster than I could read the instructions and has provided lots of imaginative fun time. I would've given it 5 stars if it could float for more than a few minutes. The wheels are a great feature but that's where it leaks.

My 3.5 yr old boy loves this ship and pirates. Hours of enjoyment. His imagination goes on and on and on.

Great product, with lots of possibilities. My 3,5 year old daughter got somewhat scared by all the skulls and bones - as well as the cannon - though but given the Lego possibilities the ship is now occasionally transformed into a Noah's ark for the zoo animals she got from another Lego set.

My son who just adores Pirates in general immediately adopted this as his favorite toy. So, shame on Lego for discontinuing it. It is simply awesome. The toy itself is enourmous, and it floats, well. It actually lets a little water into a chamber at the bottom of the hull which creates stability so it doesn't tip over when floating.Really there isn't too much to say. If you can get this discontinued product, it has got to be hands down the best Pirate ship toy for a child 2-5 years old. Quality is top notch, my 2 year old can put the figures on the pegs easily its great.Oh, when your kids get too old for it, you can put normal smaller Legos all over the hull to make the small lego men fit on it, for continued play and enjoyment as a LEGO ship.

sehr stabil, hat kleine Gimmiks (Kanonen, die schießen können, Piraten mit Bärten und Schatzkiste) und ist für kleine PiratInnen ein Muß.

Great but once put together that's it. Not much scope for imaginative putting together. I am old fashioned and when my children were young we had a gallon icecream container of Lego which we took everywhere with us. It had masses of Lego including a small motor and the children had endless fun making all sorts of different things with it.

Das Piratenschiff von Lego ist wirklich toll. Unser Sohn spielt immer wieder damit. Und wenn er nicht damit spielt, sieht es im Kinderzimmer einfach gut aus. Sehr gute Verarbeitung, wie fast alles bei Lego. Der Preis ist nicht gerade gering aber im Vergleich zu anderen Spielzeugen, die vielleicht weniger kosten aber dafür nur in der Ecke liegen, absolut o.k.
