Koldfront WAC12003WCO 12000 BTU 115V Window Air Conditioner with Dehumidifier and Remote Control

No fault of the AC, but it simply cannot keep up with the heat in Texas. This last summer we were hitting 112-114 degrees regularly, and being in a 50 year old mobile home, it just cant keep it cool. I doubt that anything could. But, it is reliable, and works every time. It runs 24-7 for 8 months of the year which is common here in Texas. Don't come here from the east or west coast to escape what you have unless you are willing to deal with the heat. It'll kill you, literally.

Excellent unit.. We hit 122* heat index this summer for over a month , Room was nice and comfy. Ice cold and keeps up well. Great price too,

Anyone that knows me know I am a tough critic!!! on anything/everything I purchase. This AC unit is FREAKING AWESOME!!. I got it for my living-room, as that is where my hubby watches TV the most.The fan was not an option anymore (NY heat wave 110 degrees 2 wknds ago). The delivery was on time, no damage to the outer box nor product ( thank God!!). Besides, my UPS driver knows I will not accept the shipment, if I see any outer box damage period ( lol!!!). But on a serious note this unit is simply amazing. Yes, the compressor is a bit loud, but what AC unit is quiet. It cools down my living-room and kitchen, I actually thought it wouldn't make the kitchen cool, but it does NO MORE FAN IN MY KITCHEN YAY!!!. My living-room is about 500 sq ft with an adjoining kitchen of like 100 sq ft. Yes, as I mentioned earlier I AM A TOUGH CRITIC my daughter hates that part of me lol!!.. I installed it in a studio apartment where the old house had vinyl window framed installed. I could not make the top edge of the unit go in front of the edge of the window coming down on it from above. I ended out jimmying a metal bracket to attach these surfaces. I am wondering how on earth others are dealing with it.They should increase their window (width) dimension requirement - I would have purchased a smaller unit. With considerable effort, I was just able to compress the side accordions enough to fit the appliance in a 25 inch window. I was tempted to remove one side and install the unit asymmetrically.Needles to say, this unit is overkill in a studio apartment; it is not challenged in any way to get the job done. I plugged it in and in about 5 minutes, the apartment was cool and dry on a 80+ degree and highly humid day.Except for the install glitch, the unit meets my expectations. Real quality.

This A/C unit has been a dream come true. We have one 550+ square ft. room that needs it's own unit. We have had 2 other fancy name brands over the past 7 years, THIS one really cools & it doesn't run all the time, esp. in our southern heat down here in Mississippi!! When the compressor comes on, it is a little loud, but it's high-efficiency so it is suppose to make that sound. Make sure you follow all the instructions and take time to read the manual, it's worth it! Only thing negative I want to mention is you can only adjust the vents side to side, the manual states they can go up & down, we just don't see how without breaking it. Great A/C, very effective and cost efficient!! Remote is a good size for bigger hands & easy to read. Best purchase for my money in a LONG time! Thank you!

I just replaced a portable air conditioner unit with this one. I wished so much I had bought this in the first place. I didn't realize they make such powerful air conditioners for small windows. This easily cools 600 square feet. I have a temperature and humidity monitor in my room and let me tell you. This unit is amazing. Cooled my room so fast and got rid of the humidity. I had a 14000 BTU portable that could never get my room really cool.I also monitor my energy usage with the power company and every day since we installed this unit, our KW's have been half.Remote control works from across the room. Very handy. Has a sleep timer too that adjusts the temp after you go to sleep.I absolutely love it! It's very small and quiet too. Comes with a 2 year parts and labor warranty.

This unit arrived just in time for the current heat . Amazon doesn't deliver this themselves,at least in Mi where I am due to weight so it takes up to 2 weeks. The company that delivered were very respectful and waited for a message or speaking to someone in the home to leave it. I appreciated that so much. The air conditioner went into a 24" x24" window and fits perfectly. We are using it for a floor level dwelling but it also makes the upper floor cooler. The only thing I changed on it while installing was using different,longer screws to be sure it couldn't be removed easily. It was simple to install and it keeps our place cool enough that we don't need to keep changing the temperature. I'm glad I chose this unit and I'd buy it again. The entire unit is about 1200 sq ft total split level.

ignore the rest. nothing else matters. This machine is COLD. yes it is noisy. so what? When the temperature is approaching 100 degrees, the room is COLD! and a much larger room than the spec limitations. if you want to be cold, no matter the outdoor temp, buy this machine. If you want peaceful sleep, buy one of the other inferior products - good luck, I have bought them all.
