Product photos don't lie, this is as good as it looks!
Bought this on a whim, I don't normally print ornamental knick knacks as generally it's a waste of plastic but having done a major upgrade on my Qidi X-Max (genuine E3D V6 hotend) I thought I'd give this silk metal-look stuff a go to see what it could do, and boy it doesn't disappoint. My prints are coming out just as good as the product photos suggest, and unless you physically examine the print, you'd not know it isn't actually metal.Brilliant, will buy more of this brand.

Visually good...on the right prints.
Quite a nice lustrous gold finish, though it it does depend on a smoothly curved model to achieve the best effect. Sharp corners and detailed prints exhibit some feathering on corners, almost gritty.I ran prints from 190 to 210 in 5 degree steps, mechanically I find this more brittle than other filaments, with lower layer adhesion. Very little stringing. If your slicer allows it, print walls first as otherwise the infill will 'show through' (any printing imperfection will really show up overall).Best uses 'vase' spiral printing and decorative items, I can't recommend for mechanical parts.I also got the black silk finish, less brittle and no feathering as found with the gold the gold, but really just shiny black, don't be fooled by the product photo like I was, this will only give a metallic appearance on detailed prints under bright lights.

Nice finish, but no good for mechanical strength
I got this as the boss decided they wanted to see what some parts would look like in "metal" before we had something properly machined. The finish is quite translucent when it's thin, so if you're printing 0.1mm layers, you'll be able to see the print lines from the layer beneath.I tried to make some parts that needed to have some mechanical strength (I needed to screw something together) and the print just cracked and snapped off. Even a vertical plate snapped off with not much force.I tried different hot end temperatures, and even ran a temperature tower to see if that would help. That didn't assist much,. and just proved that this PLA isn't up for bridging etc.

Trapped filament on spool.
The colour was good. The rolling is Rubbish along with customer service no reply to my email. won't recommend or use ever aTrapped filament on spool.gain. How many pictures do you need to see the Filament trapped under other filaments. The result was a Damaged Printer. the Extruder stepper is fantastic it pulled the filament so tight that when it gave way the stepper motor broke the rubber drive belt the housing cover cracked & when it let go people in the complex i live in thought a Bomb had gone off. Truly so never again & when i emailed customer service they didn't bother to reply. This Filament destined for the Useless Pile.

Very reliable, excellent appearance
I've tried five of the Noulei Silk colours now: Copper, Antique Gold, Rose Gold, Bronze and Black. This is the most reliable PLA material I've used, every print comes out perfectly. Sticks to the print bed with no issues and no need for glue etc, no warping or problems with layer adhesion, and removes easily when finished. Using a QIDI X-Plus, heated print bed, enclosed print area. Printing at 190C, print bed 50C with first layer 60C.Currently working on an item with 56 parts overall, 9 distinct pieces with multiples of each, and each copy comes out identical. The appearance is excellent, very shiny and eye-catching. The Copper in particular is outstanding, looks exactly like real metal. The Black also looks very like anodized aluminium. The Bronze is a little too green to really be called 'bronze', but that's true of every Bronze material I've seen. It looks exactly like the picture, so if that's the colour you want that's the colour you'll get. It fitted my project perfectly, so I'm very happy with it.Likewise the Rose Gold is a little too dark brown to really be called 'rose gold', but was the colour I was after and came out exactly as the picture, so again very happy with it.The Antique Gold is quite similar in colour to the Rose Gold, but less brown, and looks very like old and slightly tarnished gold. It's also a good 'brass' colour.I already have several spools of other brands 'Silver', otherwise I'd definitely buy the Noulei one now. As it is, I'll be buying it when I've used up what I have.Likewise I currently have no requirements for the other colours, but any that come up I'll definitely be buying Noulei. I'm very surprised they have so few reviews, given the quality of the materials.

Fantastic filament, has a lovely sheen
This filament worked beautifully and with minimal stringing on my CR 6-SE. The purple I got was easy on the eyes and made a lovely print every time. I will be buying again. Note, that I used a hot end of 205 C with the printer bed at 60 C.It adhered perfectly to the glass bed and when it cooled, it was free from the bed. No scraping needed.

Looks pretty, but it's brittle!
Bought this to make some parts for my wife (who's obsessed with Rose Gold at the moment). Couple of points:1: This isn't even in the spectrum of Rose Gold - should be called Dark Copper2: This needs printing with thick walls and lots (if not 100%) infill - first print (that had been done fine on Anycubic PLA) came out with good dimensional aspects, but snapped parts when removing supports. Was easy to break printed parts with just gently bending of model. Not sure if this needs higher temps than normal (may make it worse) but don't expect to build anything functional with this stuff.

Couldn’t possibly recommend (badly tangled)
This filament was tangled the whole way to the centre of the spool, after numerous failed prints and an unsuccessful attempt at respooling (which is surprising difficult when you don’t have a secondary spool to work with) I’ve had no choice but to discard the remainder of this filament, approx 80-90% of it. Very disappointing. For your own sanity and piece of mind avoid this brand and spend a little extra on a brand that cares about entanglement issues, unless you’re happy watch a 36hour print every 10-15 to make sure it doesn’t fail.Note that I’ve never had this issue with any other filament supplier before. I’ve purchased from Geeetech, esun, xingtongzhilian, E-DA, eryone and eono. Noulei is the only one to fail on me
