I recently cut my hair a bit too short to be able to wear the bun that I usually do, so I tried wearing a pony tail, but I didn't have any pony tail holder that I liked. I had some elastic types of holders. I don't like how they pull the hair. I also had some barrettes, but they were all too heavy and thick. I looked through hundreds of different kinds of holders and barrettes before I found this one. It seemed like it might be the perfect solution for my dilemma.I love everything about this barrette! I love the beautiful pink color that I chose. I love the long length of it and how very thin it is. I especially love how lightweight it is! It feels so great in my hair. It doesn't pull at all and stays put all day long. It is so easy to put on and take off. No effort at all. The clasp on the end works very well. It seems to be a very high quality barrette. I am so glad that I found it.

I received this so fast, thank you was very concerned about this Barrette packaged beautifully thrown in empty box with no packing material. That being said it arrived in great shape and is more beautiful than I imagined. Having never owned a French Barrette just opening and closing it was clearly in a league all it’s own. I will be buying more. I have long but fine and thinning hair and it’s my hearts delight. Very classy. Thank you so muchUpdate: I’ve used , I’ve lived using my clip since arriving. Today I anticipated a painful brushing. Not only did the clip come out after being in my hair for a couple of days no snags, brushed out beautifully shiny non brittle in the back so I won’t need a silk pillow. I need these.Update 2: seems silly to purchase multiple and Not be able to leave feedback for each purchase. Seems an Amazon issue.I’ve had to give with love both of my Amie long skinny barrettes to my Daughter. She cut her long hair at an awkward length for a college kid working fulltime. When I was able to pull her hair up in seconds very pretty she was amazed . No money better spent then a great French Barrett and I will have to buy more soon with pleasure !

I bought this item because French Luxe didn’t have the color in stock. It is comparable. I have very thick hair and most barrettes don’t have the power or quality to hold. I used to have to wear a claw type accessory until I found these. I usually pick up a handful when I drive to the Bay Area, at the cost of $25. per clip. I like this style because it can actually hold my ponytail and looks streamlined. Most clips at twice the size can’t.

My hair is thin and fine. It's never held a curl. In old age, it's getting even thinner making it hard to find a barrette that doesn't slip out. Only the old Goody 3" comes close to staying in place. Between that and shoulder dysfunction, I'd pretty much given up on longer hair. I've always known French hair accessories to be superior to American. When I saw this and the reviews, I thought it was worth one more try. Glad I did. It's tight, large and easily clipped into a variety of places. And it stays put! Thrilled. I'll get a few more.

A total piece of junk!!! Mine came beautifully wrapped in a plastic zip-lock bag and then placed in a gauzy bag that are used for gifts. Beret is pretty but not functional. I couldn't get it to open and when I examined it, it's no wonder. There is no place for your fingers to grab at the open end which is buried deep in the beret. Even with a small screw driver it was hard to open. Rather than put it on my hair and not be able to get it off, I refastened it, knowing full well without a protruberance to grab onto it would not open again. And I was right. I didn't try again as it is locked tight. You can't lift up and you can't press down to open it.

very pretty barrette, exactly what I needed (4"), would have worked with my hair type, but it would not open to even try it out! There was no way to open without chancing it to break, it was that hard to open. Sent back. :(

Works really well with thick and thin hair. Don’t love the colors and like the other browns better.

Elegant and thin. Excellent Hair Barrette, not pulling hair which is great. I have long hair and I am impressed. Highly recommended.
