One of the best.
Pros: Protection, fit for the horn, materials. There is no doubt this case is ridiculously durable. Ridiculously. All materials are of very high quality, perhaps the thickest fabric on the market. The mute back is currently holding a Tom Crown straight, Stonelined cup, plunger, second gen Yamaha Silent Brass, and my quad mouthpiece bag.Cons: Comfort. My biggest issue with the case is it's uncomfortable to carry. The tube that forms the body of the case is not padded at all. Any places it comes into contact with your body are the tube and the fabric. This is especially noticeable when you use the backpack straps. There is some padding on the straps themselves, but the hard tube runs the length of your spine. The shoulder strap is sturdy and feels like it will wear into years of use. The placement of the top d-ring is below the zipper for the lid, which makes sense, but on my body it puts the case at a weird angle, and it hangs weird.Would I buy this case again? Yes. I have colleagues who tell battle stories about what this case has done to protect their horn. Would I like to see some creature comfort added to the case? You betcha.

The Perfect Gig Bag/Case
My friends know me as a guy who will search high and low to find exactly the thing to do whatever it is I need for the thing to do. My special obession is finding items that make my daily tasks easier. Well, my latest challenge was to find a trumpet bag/case that would enable me to carry my horn with backpack straps (for when I'm dashing through airports carrying my laptop), and a shoulder strap and a hand strap for day-to-day carrying. The case also needed to accommodate my music and method books, as well as my mutes, a metronome, a Shruti box, glasses, mouthpieces, oil, and other odds and ends. The Torpedo Bag Classic fits the bill in every particular—and it's virtually indestructible! All of the zippers, closures, and straps are heavy-duty. Don't take my word for its toughness: there is a video trilogy on YouTube showing the bag being thrown from a speeding car onto pavement, being blown up, and a pair used as car jack stands—all with a trumpet inside! (I won't keep you in suspense. It didn't survive being blown up!) I can see myself getting years of use out of this first-rate trumpet case.

Made someone VERY happy for Christmas
My son in law is a professional trumpet player. I heard he really wanted this product because it would REALLY protect his trumpet and it was a proven, high end, durable, quality case. When he opened the box, he was soooo happy. He then explained why this was a top of the line case and I'm pleased to have bought it for him.

than it has paid half the monetary price and when you factor in things like time without your trumpet
It is everything it is supposed to be. Certainly pricey, but orders of magnitude more protection than my gig bag - worth saving up for. If it saves you from having to take a dent out of the bell, than it has paid half the monetary price and when you factor in things like time without your trumpet, hassle, etc, it easily saved you every bit of the cost. Shoulder straps are comfy and make the weight issue go away. Just throw everything in it - mutes, music folder, oil, brushes (don't forget your horn) throw it on your back and off you go. Wish they made a 2 can torpedo, side by side like a scuba rig, I would get one of those as well.

Great trumpet case!
I have a 1965 Conn Connstellation with the 38B size bell. Torpedobag holds it just fine, and the bag, even with mutes and accessories loaded in it, weighs less than the original case which, having seen its share of use, now has some corners being held together with duct tape. This is a great case, well worth the price, even though it is a little pricey.

Best Trumpet Case Ever Designed/Made!!! Worth Every Penny!
Bought this Torpedo Bag off of Amazon. Best case ever! I shipped my trumpet to get gold plated and it protected the horn all the way. I have even dropped my trumpet in this case and both the case and trumpet were unaffected. Best protection, high quality foam interior, and highly durable. It's also not that heavy compared to tradition hardwood cases. I bought two of these for two of my horns. Also if you ever ship a trumpet, this is the case to ship it in. It gives you a peace of mind.

Perfect trumpet case
This is a trumpet case that is perfect in all respects. The cylindrical tube protects the trumpet itself, and there is a pouch for mutes, cleaning supplies, etc, and a separate pouch for sheet music. Both pouches can be detached. The case also has a strap to carry it over the shoulder, a handle to carry it like a briefcase, and backpack straps to carry it like, well, a backpack. This trumpet case is perfect.

but it seems extremely durable and provides great protection for the instrument
Haven't had it long, but it seems extremely durable and provides great protection for the instrument. Wish I had paid the extra money years ago when my sons were lugging the trumpet around in middle/high school. Instead I purchased 3 other cases over the years which didn't last long. My son's high school band director recommended this one and it seems to be worth the extra cost.
