Brother PE525 Embroidery Machine

My wife is in love with this machine to the point where I ordered a second one. She is able to create amazing items embroidered with custom patterns easily. She was not the most technically apt person when she began this journey, and she has said many times that it was very easy to learn and intuitive to master. I would highly recommend this embroidery machine for those looking to get into the craft.

The manual was even better than described. The book was well made. I only wish it had been in color instead of black and white. It would have been so much better. It has been extremely helpful in learning how to use the embroidery machine we bought. I am sure it will be an asset to us in the future as we will be able to use our machine more and do more things with it.

Although I have had a hard time figuring out how to get embroidery designs from the computer to the machine! I am slowly figuring it out! The manual is not the easiest to follow. It could be a bit clearer. But the few things that I have done with the machine have turned out pretty good. I do recommend this machine for its price! It's a great little machine to begin learning embroidery!

This machine embroiders beautifully and is easy to set up and use - HOWEVER, I really did my research on this machine and purchases it specifically to embroider my own logo on specialty items. Unfortunately, nowhere does it say that this machine is only compatible with PC and not Apple. Nor can I download any new patterns from the internet unless I have a PC which I do not. This is crazy as Brother makes plenty of printers and other electronics that are compatible with Apple. I won't be buying a new computer so may as well return the machine. I also expected a USB port on the side of the machine. Not the case, you need to connect to a PC via a cable. I expected to be able to use a flash drive.

I would have to give this a 4 1/2 star rating. I just love this machine. It is very easy to use. All you have to do is read. I am a sewer though and make c quilts also. I just wanted something different to add to my quilts. I make one for every grandchild that graduates. Now I can put their name and year of graduation on a square with a design. Attach it to the back of their quilt. Their is so much you can do with this little machine. It's computer compatible also and so many free designs out there. Just have to make sure it's a four by four area. I have already ordered a larger frame or hoop for it. That way I don't have to rehoop it. Just love love this machine and is plenty big enough for what I need. I don't know why I waited so long. To get it. We travel some and it's small enough to take in our fifth wheel. I just can't say enough on this machine. Actually the more I use it , it's five stars. Auto thread is great for my older eyes and the auto thread cutter also. You just have to make sure and use good thread and I also use prefilled bobbins.

Do not buy this crappy machine! First time one I got was DOA with a bad power supply, called brother and had to go through hell to get them to get me a replacement (also took forever) next one worked for one week (6 Embroidery's) then the display went out. Called brother and again they are putting me through hell so Screw it. Going to trash this crapy thing and move on. Also note that I have experience with embroidery machines and made sure everything was being gently and properly used. This is just a result of poor manufacturing. Never shopping with Brother again!

Awesome little machine. Follow quick setup instructions and read manual before stitching.Had to adjust the tension a bit to suit me but not bad right out of the box. I love Brother machines. My sewing machine is a Brother and sits nicely next to my new embroidery machine. Definitely a beginner machine. I didn't think such an inexpensive machine would have a trace feature... But I was pleasantly surprised...I will keep buying Brother machines as long as they make them...

The machine is great and works wonderfully. However, I needed to call customer service for a quick question about replacing pieces. Tyrone was cold and off-putting when talking to me. Brother themselves wanted to charge $57 for an additional hoop! It was $100 to replace my books and other small items, including the hoop, that come with the machine. That is just ridiculous. I know Tyrone doesn't make the rules or prices, but being warm and welcoming goes a long way when working in customer service. I believe I will be taking my sewing business to another company from now on.
