Good Product, but not great...
I installed the drive into my Macbook Air early 2008 model. The drive fit perfect, and didn't see any issues. I paid around the $220 for it, and it definitely gave me a speed boost compared to the 4200 RPM PAT ZIF drive i had before. The performances increased to the transfer rate of a SATA 2 5400rpm Hard drive installed on my Macbook Pro 2009. Maybe a little faster. Applications opened 3 times faster than ever before, and allowed me to run more applications more smoothly. I was happy but disappointed at the same time. I wanted to get the 120 MB/s instead I got about 80 MB/s. I cant complaint about 80 MB/s but I know other brand around the same price will give higher performance. I also had the regular sleep problems with the drive. I was able to fix it by changing the sleep settings thought the terminal. If you can see a good price on the drive go ahead and get you will be happy with it, but if you find the Runcore, or there more known brands for about the same price go ahead and get the other drives. It will be a better investment.

fast Solid State Disk - which can suddenly die!
I purchased this solid state disk to replace an old 40GB Hitachi Harddisk in an Samsung q40.I had to make sure I get a SSD with the same interface as the old harddisk: IDE ZIF 40PinFor easy copping the contnt of the old HD and for using the old HD later on as external drive, I also purchased a case for 1.8" harddisk. It was not easy to connect the flat band cable to the ZIF connector and there was no description how to do that. So I had to figure it out. I also had to use some force to get it in.Finaly I got it connected, copied the partition of the old HD to the new SSD using a Bootdisk of Acronis Discdirector, and then exchanged the old HD by this new SSD. (was also not very easy)But in the end everything worked. And my Computer got a lot faster, especially because the old 1.8" HD was very slow.update: After 4 years the harddisk died. I don't know what happened. And there is no way to recover the data. - so please make a backup on a regular basis!

Great Solid State Drive
The SSD is 3X the speed that the PATA HD is. You get efficiency plus consistency from the SSD and I recommend it to anyone who has a 1st Gen. Macbook Air.

Beware that this drive only works with certain notebooks!!
I originally purchased this drive for a Sony Vaio P netbook, but it refused to work after I installed it. I tested it with an external USB drive enclosure, and it worked fine as an external drive. However, after several further attempts to get it to work with the Sony netbook, it STOPPED WORKING all together!!! I then re-tested it in the USB external drive enclosure and found that it was DEAD!!! On contacting Super Talent Technical Support, they said that this drive was designed to ONLY work with Mac notebooks that utilize ZIF type drives, and that they do NOT support this drive for other types of netbooks/notebooks (which might not work)!!!! Do NOT purchase this drive unless you are absolutely sure that it will work in your netbook or notebook application!!!!

Excellent repalcement HD for my Macbook Air A1237
This worked perfectly for my 1st Gen Macbook Air. My HDD died and I needed a replacement, so I figured I'd get an SSD to replace it.Installation was super easy. I followed the instructions here at ifixit. And used remote install to reinstall OSX which wasn't too bad. The wireless kept cutting out during the installation, so I bought the ethernet adapter and followed instructions I found on the internet (googled "clean remote install osx" and it was the first result. Also, for some reason, remote install wasn't detecting my PC Desktop cd drive, so I used my HP laptop cd drive. If you do use the disk drive on a PC, you need to download "DVD or CD Sharing" from Apple for Windows (it comes with "Remote Install OSX"). If you have an up to date Mac, you should already have it.Now my AIR feels brand new!

Snazzy little drive!
I purchased this for my wife when her Macbook Air took a rather rough tumble, damaging the hard disk. After installing it using instructions I found online, I reinstalled the OS (we had no backup of that particular computer), and we were up and running! It's faster than before the repair, and we're quite happy with this little device! If you don't need to upgrade your storage space, and just want a nice, fast SSD, this one fits the bill. I would also suggest its higher capacity siblings if you need more storage. We just didn't want to spend the extra money, as her desktop's HD failed around the same time.Overall, great product!

Worst "customer service" in the world.
I bought two of the next size up - the 256 gig version. They peformed badly from day one, and totally died after two to four months of light usage. At which point the *real* nightmare began.Super Talent's idea of "customer service" is to demand page after page of documentation before they'll even agree to let you send the duds back to them for replacement &/or repair. They are bad, bad, bad guys.Avoid at all cost.

Great for original A1237 MacBook Air
Purchased this to replace the failed hard drive in my A1237 MacBook Air. While I did see a improvement in the boot time there was no real noticeable speed increase, but I mainly use the computer for web surfing so I didn't expect one. The biggest improvement I found was the battery life increased even though my battery is original to the computer and I am very happy with that.
