CalphalonNylon Solid Spoon Utensil, Large

I loved this spoon from day one!!!! I was heartbroken when my first one broke, found a replacement months later. So excited I got several!!! Holds up to cookie dough!!

Straight side and tip that allow for an easier, complete stir inside of pans and bowls. Very sturdy and stiff spoon that won’t bend when you lift or stir heavier foods.

It's a spoon. Does its job. Odd shape but I like it after using it a few times. Good price.

LCalphalon cooking utensils are my favorite. I had a set for years and when I moved, they accidently got sold in a yardsale. (Those people got lucky). I did have the serrated spatula left and it's held up over the years quite nicely. I've been looking for a replacement set for awhile and ended up messaging Calphalon directly to inquire about where I could find them. They told me that they no longer sell cooking utensils separately, but only with their pots and pan sets. I'm not sure why they decided to do that, as I feel like their brand held up very well and sold pretty decently. Needless to say, it left me looking high and low to gather all the pieces I needed to make a full set once again. I found this piece on Amazon and was so glad they still had. I just wished they had other pieces as well. I like that the corner of the spoon can be used to scrape things away from the edges of the pan so that they don't get burnt and stuck to the sids. I also like that it's dishwasher safe, as the dishwasher has become my new best friend. If you're looking for a cooking spoon that will hold up over time, this it, however, good luck finding the other pieces to make a complete set.

I understand quality comes with price but I do question when other brands are offering multiple items at the same price.Are the prices inflated?

It's not quite black, but it really does not matter. The spoon is great, very comfortable in the hand, it does what it's supposed to do.

this brand is becoming as popular at the mall as oxo, but i could not find this shape anywhere but Sears for $9 so I grabbed one off amazon when i needed an add-on item to get free shipping. that middle flex band separates the high heat spoon from a rubberized handle. there is a slight angle to the spoon where the handle meets the trough. do not use this for oil fried food prep or the edge will warp. it may hold too little for portioning out food to a large family. it's perfect for making sushi as the spoon holds the right amount of cooked rice, and I can use the back of the spoon to spread and flatten the rice against the nori sheet. this shape comes in two sizes - as a man using a deep square bottom pressure cooker biweekly - i prefer this longer model. check your utensil drawer length while deciding which size to buy. the squared edge comes in handy for getting every last bit of food out of a right angle bottom to side pot, and for cutting soft cooked foods while organizing them into portions.2022 UPDATE: be advised Calphalon has long discontinued it's Nylon utensil line,thus resellers may be shipping out whatever mislabeled inventory they have left.

Nice spoon but I feel like the curve would be better on the other side of the spoon.Update: Didn't use much and snapped in half at join today without much pressure. In the photo, you can see how thin it is inside where it broke.
