James & Co No.4 Red (Spiced Berries, Cinnamon & Vanilla) 300ml Home Fragrance Reed Diffuser Set

There is definitely a bergamot and citrus note to this, but has a heavy soapy, thick, artificial undertone that ruins the scent.The bottle is fine (a big, clear glass with minimal branding) - and the reeds are extremely thin with an odd dusky blue with a sort of velvety look to them. Sounds weird but I actually quite like it.The fragrance though... Im on the fence but leaning toward a 2 star for quality. Certainly I can smell it; its strong but not overpowering. The diffuser is in my hallway and I can smell it notably in the living room, so performance wise Im pretty impressed - but that soapy undertone is horrible; its not like laundry/ clean soap - more it puts me in mind of cheap slimy liquid soap - or a bar of budget soap that didnt smell great to begin with, thats been left wet in a soap dish for a week.Im hoping that will die down and leave the citrussy herbal tones but Im not convinced. I think I'll give it another week to see if it balances out, then if not, this might be relegated to the guest bedroom! At the moment, its certainly not one I would repurchase.

I've since changed my original review and added a star. When I first opened it up, I found the fragrance questionable as I'd got used to a different fragrance, which I loved, and found this one less appealing. However, I've since got used to it and in fact don't notice it much anymore despite adding extra reeds. This isn't necessarily because (as I understand it) the fragrance has lost its strength but because the nose no longer needs to acknowledge its existence. Only a smell which is bad will continue to be noticed. Ultimately, fragrance is very much a personal thing so while this isn't my favourite, many others will love it!

This smells beautiful and is lasting very well.......much longer than more well known brands that are more expensive. Very pleased with this and will purchase again.

The bad thing about buying fragrance online is that you can't give it a sniff before you order it. That being said, it's not exactly what I imagined it to be after reading the description, but it's still worth the money. I use it in a medium-sized room and I can feel the fragrance when I come in from outside. It's a pleasant scent, though not what I'd call classy. It works best when it's close to a heat source and the reeds need to be flipped every now and then. The bottle is larger than most diffusers, so will most likely last several months.

Smells okay, nothing amazing. Looks nice on the window sill but disappointed that it didn’t come with the label on the bottle like the image shows on Amazon. Should come with a nice green label b just has a clear sticker on instead. This makes it look slightly cheap looking. Will buy a different smell next time and hope it comes as the images shows.

Scent beautiful, presentation clean and simple and not overly fussy, reeds a lovely colour and everything coordinates BUT the scent doesn’t travel up the reeds and I had to replace the reeds with standard black ones - pity

We ordered one of these bottles to replace some Next Italian Lemon reed diffusers. This was cheaper and had a larger quanity than the next bottles.What a dissapointment, hardly any fragrance and you only get the occasional whiff when you brush past the bottle. I've turned the reeds, move the bottle to a different place and still nothing.

I couldn’t smell any of them when walking into the rooms I put them in. I bought 4 and they all have the same level of scent. Definitely not worth the money!
