I wear the brace without the straps. I would, however, recommend NOT wearing it against your skin as it has 6 plastic stays with rough bumps on each. The stays help hold the belt in place over clothes as thin as a tee shirt with no discomfort.I have difficulty standing more than 5 minutes these days without having to sit for a minute or 2, which makes shopping, doing housework, walking around the yard, etc time consuming. With this brace I can go anywhere and do most things. I also bought a rolling walker with flip seat and hand brakes so now I no longer have to use those electric shopping carts you sit on. The brace allows me to walk longer and the walker lets me sit a minute or two. Now I have my life back again.

Far and away the best back support I've ever used.The adjustable tabs are what really makes this product stand out. Instead of relying on a single closure like so many other support systems, the Ergodyne uses two additional straps which fixes and secures the support in place - and since that place varies from person-to-person, it creates a custom fit based on your specific needs. More or less tension, given each circumstance. The shoulder straps aren't necessary, but are a nice touch for the 'just in case' crowd; but they're easily detached and removable.Since COVID I've been forced to return to my work roots youth and now have labor-intensive job. This has been a life saver. And a job saver. (!)

This is the best back support belt I've ever used so far.... I have two others that were supplied by past employers... but, they weren't nearly as nice as this belt. The construction on this belt is noticeably more heavy-duty. The shoulder straps are wider and thicker than the ones on most other belts. The belt is very comfortable, while being very stiff and supportive of the lower back. The shoulder straps are very easy to adjust and the support level can be adjusted by pulling or loosening the outer side support straps around the waist. There are also rubber gripping bars located on the back/inner side of the belt to keep it in place more securely. This is a high quality belt made of high quality materials.

Yay.The brace is very well made, sturdy with Velcro closing with extra adjustable Velcro flapsthat cover the underlying brace. Very helpful in getting the correct fit.It is very neat looking and fits well under clothing, hardly detectable, if you need it to be.It also comes with adjustable suspenders that can also be removed if desired.My husband said it was perfect, very good fit, helped with pain in back and supportive.My husband has a 36' waist and we ordered the L and it fit great.Highly recommend. Good price too.

For back surgery recovery, not just for weight lifters and movers. I was told to use this type of belt a few weeks after back surgery, when all I could do for exercise was move around with a walker and walk a few houses down the block. I wore it all the time in the house as well, because having it on reminded me not to twist or bend, and it relieved the general pain I was feeling for the first month. It should be on the list of equipment to use after any back surgeries, and though I was fitted with a very hard support belt, this one worked much better.

Was very happy to find this belt on Amazon. My last Proflex belt finally wore out after using it for well over 10 years, closer to 15 years. I'm 50 and have been doing commercial HVAC service for 28 years. I have arthritis and joint deterioration in my lower back . If I wear this belt when I lift heavy weight, no back pain, if I lift without this belt severe pain can put me on my back for days. I do not use the suspenders. I also use when riding dirt bikes. I take it everywhere I go even on vacation.

I needed to replace an old back support brace I had for years and found this one. After reading several reviews i decided to purchase this one. Very happy I did, feels great! Reall supports my back. I took off the straps so I can use it under my shirt at work. I'm a 36" waist so I purchased the Large size. Just the right size. The XL would be a perfect size but im still happy with the Large.

Just worn for the first time. Found it very comfortable and supportive. Not as rigid as a weight lifting belt but good for lighter "heavy" lifts. I wouldn't use these for lifting free weights!I like the suspenders which keep them handy when not in use between lifts which is a good thing for a retail or warehouse environment. I use them for working around our rental lodge and property. Not sure about longevity, will post after some usage.

fits nicely round the lower back and is easy to wear. Not too bulky so not obvious under a loose-ish shirt

JUST WHAT I WANTED, HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW, THE RESULTS ARE GOOD

This back support brace is the best I’ve tried so far. It sure helps to have the suspenders as without them I find that the brace drops down and I lose the support. Good product for the price for sure. My spine is so bad now that I wouldn’t go outside without a brace due to the pain I have now from a degenerated spine and the extra support I need due to having MD.

I bought this as a replacement to an older model I was borrowing from a family member and was pleasantly surprised by some of the updates and new materials.There is tons of support and the Velcro is very strong to hold support for hours.A++
