ERASE AWAY POOL STAINS
This product does an excellent job of erasing away stains and algae from concrete pool surfaces. Similar to a pencil eraser. Unfortunately it wears down very quickly. It works best on pool sides if user has a weight belt on to get better leverage. I made a 3 foot piece of PVC pipe with 2 holes at end for latch to make the product more efficient to use. I live in Florida and go through 2 of these a year.

Don't waste your money. Doesn't work
We've accumulated brown stains at the bottom of our pool due to what I believe may be pine cones that settled and absorbed into the pool floor. I bought this in an attempt to erase the marks. Unfortunately, all it did was wear out my shoulder from rubbing the blasted thing over and over again on the brown spots. Spots are still there; eraser is worn away. Waste of money.

good for leaf stains and mild iron rust blemishes
If you ever find that a piece of iron-based artifact has been roaming around the bottom of your pool from the pool cleaner pushing it around, such as a contractor’s rusted carpenter blade, this is not the product for you. I suspect this is a quick solution to leaf stains, is VERY surface friendly. But that means this isn’t for the deep tough stains. It goes quick trying to get rid of rust stains, and has a smooth plastic-like feel. Pumice is your next best bet, or going with a pole attached-controlled acid spot treat cylinder for iron stains. I wouldn’t buy this product again, as leaf stains go away with a directed shock treatment in between pump cycles. But I suspect it is decent for pools with a lot of overhead staining trees, and a plaster you don’t want to scar.

Best pool stain remover
I read some ideas to remove rust and other stain in my fiberglass pool and they sounded complicated, dangerous or potentially damaging to the shell. I got this stain eraser and it worked like a charm to get 90% of the stain off, enough that you cannot see it from outside the pool anymore. I used it by hand on the bottom of the pool and the hardest part is trying to stay submerged while I’m doing the scrubbing. Two can use it on the end of a pole but I don’t think that’s as easy or effective. This product is softer than a pumice stone so it is perfect for the fiberglass, May not be hard enough for concrete but I highly recommend this to get 90% of a majority of stains out on fiberglass for sure!

Removed large chunks of calcium buildup between the stairs of my pool
My pool builder came by to show me that this thing takes off calcium buildup so I purchased it. It does work but requires a LOT of elbow grease. Since its basically a giant eraser it does deteriorate fast against the roughness of pebbletech / plaster. This also means that it will leave little "eraser debris" so you will have to vacuum / run pool robot after. In one use for about 4 large steps I've already used up half of it but if it keeps removing the calcium buildup then I'll keep buying it. Its a small price to pay for the longevity of the pool. I will be trying it against some black rubber stains that were made by a cheaply made pool rake provided to me by the pool builder. I'll update the review accordingly.

Not for In-ground pools!
If you have an in-ground pool DO NOT BUY. I have an in ground pool with pebble tech surface and water line tile. I purchased this for a quarter sized rust spot on the pebble tech and calcium buildup on the tile. All that I accomplished was leaving thousands upon thousands of little rubber bits floating and sinking in my pool and I still have a rust spot and I still have calcium build ups. I gave it the good ol college try and it sucked. The product has the composition of an eraser and looks special because of the brown color. It’s not. It’s clearly beach sand mixed in with a clear rubber compound poured into a mold, that’s it. Try a normal eraser on your stain, if it works and you need something larger then buy this. This may be perfect for above ground pools with leaf stains and pvc liners because it is not abrasive at all. That’s not what I have and it did nothing for me that I couldn’t have done with any other thing item I may have laying around that I wanted to rub against the stain. You live, you learn.

Really works!
Works great! Our pool cleaner left black skid marks all over the pool we couldn’t buff out with a brush.. this little thing got it out no problem! I will say that there is some like rubber residue but that gets filtered out. It’s a great little tool to have around for pool owners!

Doesn't do as promised
This is a great idea (?) but no better than a good scrub brush--there is nothing 'magical' here that can remove stains. While I found it able to remove algae, it did not remove actual stains, especially rust stains. Returning.
