The Broken Token Board Game Organizer - Legendary Encounters Compatible Wood Storage Box with Multiple Dividers

Yeah, pretty lame attempt for the headline but the Broken Token Box Organizer is an awesome product. This is my fifth BT box organizer (King of Tokyo, Dead of Winter, Suburbia, Cosmic Encounter, and now this one) and I am glad I bought them all. When you spend $60+ on a game I feel it's worth it to spend a few dollars more and sleeve your cards and invest in a nice insert. I want my games to be legacy games and pass them down to my kids. To me it's worth it. I do use wood glue and tape all the edges when I put them together and they hold up pretty strong. No exceptions to this organizer. It took me about 20 minutes to put it together. By far the quickest out of the other organizers I have assembled. If you want to help protect your game and make set up and take down quicker and smoother then you can't go wrong with this insert.

This is a must for anyone who enjoys this game or would like to use it more often. It's made only for Legendary Encounters. You get enough dividers to set things up. I can't comment on those who like to combine this with marvel legendary or the upcoming predators expansion. As for setup it was simple but it is wood so it requires delicate handling. I didn't set it up using wood glue but I did need to connect everything within the box as the dimensions were very snug. If possible I would recommend using wood glue when setting this up to prevent anything from slipping out.

Broken Token has changed the design of their insert for the Legendary encounters games. The insert used to have the four long pieces be continuous long pieces. Now they have shortened it into two short pieces to make the long pieces. The result is that the insert is a pain to put together and much weaker, with only the edge of the box to offer it support. I tried gluing it, and I eventually added tape to the inside and outside of the joint, but it's still flimsy and weak and causes the longer pieces to bow at the joint. It also barely fit in the box for my Legendary Encounters: The Matrix game. I imagine they changed the design to save themselves a few cents in packaging, but the new design is terrible. They need to change the design back to the original, which was a solid insert for all of the Legendary Encounters games.

I liked the product. Fits perfectly in the box the game comes in. May require just a teensy bit of a push to fit it in. Just a bit of suggestion, it's advisable to use wood glue when putting it together.

I take my games on the road a lot, so I'm always looking to reinforce my boxes somehow. This does the trick.I did my research before buying - I saw that the manufacturer suggests that you have tape on hand and wood glue available to reinforce the thing, so I wasn't caught off-guard by this at all. People who were caught off-guard clearly didn't do any research before buying.It holds the cards, it reinforces the box. It'll even hold sleeved cards - something too many OEM inserts DON'T do. My one complaint is fairly minor - the central section which holds the playmat is a bit small, making it difficult to fit the mat in there.This fit Legendary Encounters: An Alien Deck Building Game with enough room left over to hold Legendary Encounters: A Predator Deck Building Game Board Game. I am in process of sleeving both games, now. I just hope it'll hold both sets sleeved ...

I have since removed this from my box as the middle dividers just won't stick in place, causing everything to shift around and I have to constantly wedge it back in. This extra task was never present before and now it annoys me every time I break out this game.This is simply a bad buy and at best, if it actually were to function the way it was supposed to, it would just be a fringe buy....again, this doesn't make organizing any easier (in fact it makes it harder as I have to constantly wedge it in place), so it was easy to remove it. Since removing it, it has been easier to work with because this product would occasionally block your cards when you tried to slot them back in, forcing even more effort into a product that is supposed to make things better.I seriously regret ever paying for this thing as a whole. Someone in comments suggested using Wood Glue and that might work, but as I mentioned, for the hefty price this shouldn't also require that I need glue just to make it work at all. If you do buy this thing, good luck and hopefully they send you some that are actually long enough to fit into both grooves and not come apart so easily.EDITED 2/17/2015This is an insert for the bottom half of your Legendary Encounters box. It somewhat reinforces the box and makes it more stable, but overall is just a somewhat expensive luxury item to make your box look cool. Nothing about this is purchase is necessary at all...you can store all your cards just with what comes out of the box perfectly fine. It doesn't make the actual organizing any easier or harder than it already is.This set does NOT work for with the Legendary Villains box...I had held out hope that it might but it doesn't fit as the Villains box is a slightly different shape than the Encounters box. If you really want one you're going to need to wait until they decide to make one for that box.Assembly was a pain....the instructions didn't quite work for me as the longer pieces didn't really "stick" into the corresponding holes too well, and kept falling off. I eventually just assembled it in the box instead and it worked better that way but even then the longer pieces fell off over and over until I managed to get that last piece on.This product does take up room from your box....not too much but its enough to take away space meant for cards or your playmat instead. For minimalists that like to carry everything in one box, this is probably not for you. The Encounters playmat BARELY fits into the slot in the middle, you'd need to do an airtight roll on it in order to fit it comfortably. Before this organizer, I could roll both the Villains and Encounters playmat on top of each other and fit that into my box just right. With it, now I can't, which turns convenience into a hassle.I've included a picture where I've fit all of Legendary Encounters: Alien, Legendary Villains and the Guardians of the Galaxy expansion into it, but it is completely full and when I decide to add an expansion, I will need to remove something from the box. This would happen regardless of this organizer, but it certainly doesn't help matters. I use Ultra-Pro Deck Protector sleeves, which fits fine in the box. The dividers are only moderately useful for Legendary....not very useful for separating the different heroes but I can at least use some of it to separate the starter cards such as the Hydra and Bystander cards (which don't need as precise a sorting).This isn't a terrible purchase but it's not a great one either. My friends notice the organizer when they see it and find it cool, but due to all the reasons above and more I could probably do without it. For less money than this thing, I could have bought another small expansion for Legendary, which at this point I wish I had done instead.

I swear I'm looking up other games that Broken Token makes inserts for just as an excuse to put one together and get the satisfaction that is gained from putting it snugly into the game box. Easy to put together, simple instruction, and best of all is that everything fits in the box you bought the game for!
