Sometimes Love Isn't Enough
This was a really great book. Kira and Brayden have known each other since he was 10 years old and she was 7 years old. They live next door to one another and Brayden considers both Kira and her older brother Ryan his best friends. Since day one Brayden has felt protective and considered Kira special.Kira's father died when she was about 4 years old. It has been just Ryan, Kira, and their mother for awhile. She and Ryan fight sometimes but he's been a good brother and hangs out with her and protects her. She really cares and loves Brayden. She's 3 years younger than Ryan and Brayden so they grow up and are able to do things she has to wait for. She's there for Brayden when he needs her but she also has to watch and see him hook up and have sex with countless other girls. It hurts her so much for him to be with all these girls that aren't her. She just wants him to want her like she wants him. Finally, she thinks they are going to be together but then their parents ruin it. She keeps getting her hopes up and ends up more heartbroken every time. She doesn't know if she can take any more.Brayden's parents fought for years and finally divorced because his father cheated on his mother a lot. Brayden was forced to choose between his parents on who to live with. He knows his father broke up his family and he's closer to his mother but he ends up staying with his father so he doesn't lose Kira from his life. With all the terrible things happening in his life with his family, he loses his virginity when he was 15 years old and doesn't want to have a girlfriend. His parents made him believe that happily ever after doesn't really exist. Finally when he's about to turn 18 years old and Kira is 15 years old, he decides that he wants her to be his girlfriend. He knows she is the one for him and he loves her and doesn't want to waste anymore time on women that he just sleeps with and don't matter to him. Sadly that is the same day that Brayden's dad and Ryan and Kira's mom announces that they are getting married and they will be a family. Brayden feels destroyed and all of his hopes are ruined by that announcement. He knows they cannot be together so he pushes her away. And in the process, he breaks her heart. He hurts her many times over the years trying to do what he believes to be the right thing.Definitely worth reading and I'm really looking forward to the conclusion to Brayden and Kira's story in Take.

Intense
I loved the story but since the story is spread out over 2 (at least) books that automatically loses points with me. The fact that I'm left hanging & have no idea when the next book is even going to be published also causes it to lose points with me. I have to say, I bought this book because it was only .99 cents and because of the high reviews and they were right. This book was intense and really pulled me in and I had a hard time putting it down to do all the other things that needed doing in life. My heart broke repeatedly for Kira, and Braydon drove me crazy at times. I understood his view of the situation but I didn't like how badly he hurt Kira with his actions. This book is very repetitive and usually that drives me crazy but it worked in this book. It really made you feel their pain, frustration, anger, etc. I know that is what other authors are often intending when they are repetitive but somehow these authors pulled it off much better than most.Hopefully the next book will be out soon since I read 5 books or more a week and I know there are books out there that I was really invested in at the time but forgot about them by the time the next one came out. Wish I'd did my homework a little more before starting this book so I would have saved it to read until the next book came out.Note to authors: I really like it when it is indicated in book description that this story isn't finished in 1 book and how many books will be in the series. Yes, the title said "Need (Need Series Book 1) but sometimes that means it's a series that ends in a cliff hanger & sometimes it means there will be more books in the series but they will focus on other characters in the book. I think this is only fair to your readers so they know what they are getting into.

Great beginning, interesting middle, drug out ending.
This book just wasn't for me. I liked the idea of two people who fell in love at a young age. I liked they started as friends. It was fun reading about the friendship of Kiera, Ryan (brother/sister) and the boy next door Brayden. The book starts with their becoming neighbors and friends at the young age of 10 and 7. They were an inseparable bunch. I liked how the two older boys Ryan and Brayden let the younger Keria tag along. Even let her become part of their team.Eventually as they grow up and get into their teenage years Brayden realizes he has feelings for Kiera. He realizes he is attracted to her and wants her for himself. I liked this - up until the point he started treating her like his standby girl. He made HUGE assumptions that she would just be waiting in the wings when he was ready to commit to her. What???? He could go sow his wild oats, make declarations of wanting her and then crush her heart with his selfish actions. I liked him at first but then just got annoyed with him. He thought he had this magic sexual touch that erased all the crap he threw out at her - both verbally dismissing her, and choosing other women over her. I really felt sorry for this girl. His back and forth - I want her - she is underage I can't - got annoying. Then at the end his constant "you are mine!" began to creep me out. It came across as physco - rather than endearing. And good for her for not backing down.Additionally, I cannot figure out the book cover. What is with her choking him? It looks a little scary how he has this help me look on his face. I don't judge wether or not to read a book based on covers. I have been burned by great covers and surprised by stupid, cheap, or even silly covers. So, that isn't a deal breaker for me. But I have to say after reading this - it doesn't really fit for me. Thus like the cover doesn't fit the story a lot of the story line didn't fit or flow in a way that made me like these people or even root for them.I won't read this second book because this book seemed whyyyyyy tooooo drawn out for me. Nothing really new happend and it rambled on and on for me. I didn't connect with the characters enough to be invested in reading anymore in this series. I give this one star for the sweet beginning, one star for the somewhat chemistry before Brayden became a jerk, and then one star because I finished it. I just lost interest and lost respect for the main chartacters. Read my other reviews to see if we have similar likes/dislikes. This is merely my opinion.

My heart physically ached during this book. The desperation and need between the H/h is palpable. I can't wait until the next one!

A angst-filled forbidden romance
I have whiplash. Talk about an angst fest. But I like a forbidden romance and to be honest the mixed reviews had me a little intrigued."Just because he's best friends with my brother doesn't make Brayden my brother as well."So, we have Kira and Brayden. His best friends little sister, their story begins when she's 7 and he 10. Time moves on to their teens and just as the temperature begins to heat up between them, her mum and his dad decide to tie the knot. Loves young dream becomes a living nightmare."We're both trapped in misery."The majority of the book covers Kira's 15-17 years and Brayden's 18-20. He knows he can't touch her as she's underage, but his hormones disagree. And Kira, well, for a fifteen year old the girl has quite the dirty mind and inner sexual vixen, which I found a little overplayed at times considering she had no experience. They frustrated the hell out of me. The denial and the fight between them brought bucket loads of angst, but it with sprinklings of sweet and touching it definitely held emotion. But I have to say these two characters have me sitting on the fence somewhat; I struggled to warm to both Kira and Brayden and spent a large part of the book wanting to bang their heads together. But the glimpse given of Take gives me confidence that this will change. Although I don't doubt it will hold plenty more angst."Shouldn't that all consuming ache be less, not more?"3.5 stars.

Yes, but..
I had to read this book in one go. It was amazing!!!! BUT, I would have liked more resistance from Kira in the beginning. She gets treated like a ragdoll and one touch from Brayden and everything is forgotten?! Nah nah nah
