The Best of KC & the Sunshine Band

Inexpensive trip down memory lane. Excellent!

Nothing more, nothing less. Just great dance music. It was the mid 70's and Disco music was getting big, when Casey (KC) gathered together with some friends and created the sunshine band. They debuted with the minor hit "Sound Your Funky Horn". That song is featured here and introduced the unique formula of KC and the blaring horns of his band. They endured a few more minor hits until they hit their definite stride with "Get Down Tonight". That song is featured here along with several tunes of varying quality.Alright, You got me. There wasn't really anything groundbreaking about KC and his band -- the lyrics were simple and KC wasn't the best singer in the world -- but boy could they lay a groove. The big dance singles here and the ballad "Please Don't Go" are all classics. It is impossible to resist dancing along to these catchy grooves. Among my favs here are "Get Down Tonight" (The song that REALLY put them on the map) and all the other big dance songs. If you can't dance to "That's the Way (I Like It)" than you are not, I repeat, NOT alive lol.This album has all their hits as well as lesser known cuts and works great as a workout CD or just for a stroll down memory lane. "Shake Your Booty", "Keep It Comin", "Boogie Shoes" etc are all grooves and will make you wish disco was back, so you could dance John Travolta style....or at least strut. 5/5 stars. Highly recommended.

Best of: KC & The Sunshine Band Hits is the best cd to buy. Has all the hit songs that makes you dance. Love this CD.

Can anyone explain what music is today? I think the name "music" should be changed to "corporate garbage". Put on your dancing shoes with KC and the sunshine band. Get down to the boogie. Do it,now!

Fun dance music for the ages...as long as the age can dance.

Bought this specifically for Please Don’t Go but there are many great songs on the record. I won’t listen to it all the time but it’s wonderful when the mood strikes.

Love this album. Not all the hits are on it, but many of the good ones are. I originally bought this a good 20 years ago. I'm glad to have found it here so that I could have it back it in my collection. The memories of all the good hits are well worth the purchase.
