Great Light for Warehouse Use
I work in a warehouse and ordered this to clip onto my hard hat. It is great for trailer inspections and checking out other dark areas. It is a little heavy but once you get used to the added weight it's not a big deal. I do get the flicker as mentioned in some other reviews but I've notice it's only when the batteries start to run down. Usually a simple tap resolves the issue. Using good batteries seems to prevent the problem. I haven't had any other issues. The articulation points are adequate though it would be nice to have a 45° side swivel just below the flashlight clip. The downward facing light is a nice touch if you are trying to read paperwork in the dark (though I admit I rarely use it). I imagine I will appreciate both lights during power outages which seem to be fairly common in our facility during the warmer months.

2 years owning it and I'm shocked
Recently lost it 2 weeks ago after working on my Jeep. I was upset about it, gave in, and bought the metal Nightstick pen light with a clip as a replacement. Tonight, I just found my old flashlight inside the engine bay of my Jeep, still holding onto the underside of my hood when I was using it to light up the engine 😅. The only thing I have to fix is the side lens. The heat in there almost made it come off. Other than that, still works.Other things I've done to this flashlight:*dropped it 30ft onto the shop floor*dropped in 400gal of oil*left on an locomotive engine room for awhile under load*under water*thrown acrossed the shop*stepped on*tapping on various things*slid or rolled on the groundI bought it for heavy diesel work for my job 2 years ago. 5 years before that, I had the normal sized one with 2 magnets on it. But this one wins. I clip it to the bill of my hat and use it as a head lamp when I need 2 hands and it hasn't been rendered useless.

Great little light
This is a great little light! Very bright, and useful. Waterproof. I've been using it all the time for months, and still the same battery. Very efficient. Comfortable little light. First in any pocket. I also love the magnet useful for hands free. Edit: 3 years... And it's still ever just as handy of a flashlight!

Looks good in the package, but didn't work well for me in a real construction site environment.
I searched high and low for a flashlight and mount designed for a hardhat in commercial environment. I'm working in a new high-rise and lots of floors don't have power. This seemed to fit the bill and I was enthusiastic when I got it. A week later, I'm returning it. Here's my professional experience.Weight: It's heavy. If you' wearing this with a fire-helmet, you'd never notice it. But with a hardhat, it's a noticeable difference on the side of your head. I wouldn't return it just for this, but before you commit - try strapping any standard tactical light with 2 AA batteries on the side of your head and see if you don't notice it more than you thought you would.Magnets Suck! No, the magnets work. That's not the problem. Modern construction is steel studs and steel grid wire and steel conduit and steel this, and steel that.... everything in a modern ceiling is metal. I'm constantly thinking I've got something jammed in my hard hat. Nope, it's the beam grabbing my flashlight, or its the grid-wire grabbing my flashlight, or its's something else grabbing my flashlight. I've got magnetic lights. If I need one, I'll go get one. I do NOT need my hardhad light snagging on everything it comes close to! Because it IS a decently strong magnet, so much to the point it will just about make the hat come off your head if you're not careful. So that's a huge negative for me.The hard hat clip is so-so:Again, this is mainly because of the magnet, but also because of how far the unit sticks off your hardhat. It's so far out there that it catches on everything: Cables, ceiling grid, anything hanging down can grab it because the light is SOO far off your helmet. It also makes it so I can't get into spaces I otherwise can. I've had a few times already where I've come down out of a ceiling grid and the light will catch on the grid. Rather than pulling my hardhat loose like I'd assume it would, it just pulled the light, clip and all, right out of the helmet.Light Flickers: I was going to take a video, but really didn't feel like taking the time. It's simple to describe. Just stepping up and down a ladder is enough jostling to make the beam go bright, then dim, then flicker, then bright, etc... nonstop. I've smacked it, thwacked it, and eventually just turned it off.Two buttons is a waste:This light has two buttons. If you're wearing this on ANY kind of helmet, the outward pointing flood light button is a waste and it just gives you an incorrect button to press when you're trying to turn the spot beam off. 75% of the time I hit the wrong button and turn BOTH lights on instead of turning the spot light off. If you're looking up, the flood light is pointing over your head, regardless of where you're looking, so it's useless. Or it's pointing left (away from you), down (on to your shoulder), or right (into your face). There is literally ZERO scenarios where a floodlight wash is useful. None. It's like they tried to make a good work light and a good head lamp and screwed both up trying to do too much.Every single other contractor on the job site just has a headlight zip tied to their helmet. I'm about to return this and go back to the same thing myself. If I was working in a wood-construction site, none of this might be a problem, but those aren't common anymore. Too much metal makes the magnet alone too much of a headache. Take out the magnet and reduce the weight of the light.

Great light!
Excellent light. I work in a chemical plant that requires intrinsically safe electronics, and this is an excellent work light. Flood function with magnetized bottom for area light, spot function for pinpoint light, great brightness and efficiency, small package with handle reversible clip..Perfect for a pocket sized flashlight!

Broke in less than a week
The company I work for has to have X-proof equipment since we work in areas that contain combustible dust. So just having that extra safety integrated into equipment means it will cost a little more. Well I decided to get my guys a couple trial flashlights since the other ones we've been getting haven't lasted but a few months and then nothing but issues after. I was buying intrinsically safe $25 lights, and these Nightsticks are a little over $40 thinking spend a little more means maybe get a year out of them. Literally 2 days in.........internal spring must have broke for the on/off button. Now waiting on them to send a replacement but I don't want to deal with this crap over and over. Not Amazons fault, but also not like the websites for these companies sell them either, you literally have to do a search in your area for a store that might carry them. and of course its all made in china, probably by some poor kid in a sweat shop. anyone know a US based company that makes intrinsically safe flashlights that aren't $100 per?
