The photo on Amazon shows bowl as medium stained with a light stained rim. Actual bowl and rim are too close in color. Little disappointing.

Smaller than expected. Too small. Can they be returned unused. I do not have my paperwork. Thanks

This is a beautiful, well made bamboo salad bowl. It's the piece that will be around forever, great for large gatherings or a big family. I don't have anything negative to say about it, other than it is a bit heavy, but not prohibitively so. It would make a perfect wedding gift.

I purchased two of these to use for rice, one dish meals, etc. since I generally prefer eating out of bowls rather than plates. These are gorgeous, and everyday meals very special. As someone who is very clumsy I like the idea of having solid, long-lasting bamboo pieces instead of the traditional ceramic or glassware.As long as you keep them well-conditioned, I think these can last a lifetime of use. Just be aware of the size. These are about the size of standard cereal bowls, but they are fairly shallow, 2-3 inches in depth, so not something that would be well suited for cereal generally. Likewise if you're like me, these won't do for salad either, unless it's a small side salad with a meal. These would be great for snacks, fruit, rice, oatmeal, etc. And for the price and quality of the item, it works great for my purposes.

We have had smaller Totally Bamboo bowls for a handful of years, and they've held up well. This is a much larger serving bowl and works well for salads and popcorn. The bamboo is finished well and without toxic adhesives. Bamboo does require special care. In our experience, using some food-safe mineral oil periodically to feed the bamboo works well. (The manufacturer recommends mineral oil applications every several days for an initial break in period.) Overall, this is a nice bowl. It's not as dark as the photograph would lead you to believe. It's more of a medium color than a chestnut color.

This is big, really big. So big that it won’t fit on my kitchen shelf. But that’s the downside. But it is perfect for large family gatherings, entertaining, and salads as dinner (ie grilled chicken Caesar salad that is popular with our family.

I wanted a smaller bowl; the 10" is just right for the small fruit I need it for. I like the look of the bamboo and it has a nice sturdy feel to it.

For all you traditional wet shavers out there looking for a good lather bowl, look no further. I had been looking for a decent bowl for creating lather for my shave routine but the price of many of the products available struck me as preposterous, especially when one considers what you're actually getting. During my search I found two in particular that appeared to be well suited to the task. However the $40 price tag seemed ludicrous for something I will use for just a few minutes a day. So when I came across this on Amazon I was quite certain I had found exactly what I was seeking. Aesthetically it looks classy even in the bathroom and wood suits practically any décor. And the surface inside creates the same type of aeration as the professionally designed lather bowl that costs twice as much. The dark wood provides a perfect backdrop for white lather and it's the perfect size. I don't have large hands but this is easy to hold on to. It works just as well with shaving soap as it does with a quality cream. Most of the day it sits on the vanity countertop as a soap dish and then doubles as a lather bowl when it's time to shave. The manufacturer may have never created this bowl with shaving in mind but this works amazingly well for precisely that. Throw in the reasonable price and this becomes next to impossible to beat. And if you don't like its lathering abilities, you still have a beautiful bowl for display.
