How many cards for each role?

Are you guys planning any new expansions with new/additional roles? Or maybe a blanks set for custom roles?

We added a lot of new roles with Mafia Deluxe (47 unique roles on 84 role cards). The original Mafia the Party Game came with 38 cards (19 different roles). If there is enough demand for blank/custom roles, we may include them in future versions of Mafia Deluxe.

What stops the undercover cop from revealing the Mafia in the first round and winning the game immediately?

Since Mafia is a game of lying bluffing and deceit, really good Mafia players who have a Mafia or associated role will pretend to be the Undercover Cop to throw everyone off. The Undercover Cop should be reserved for advanced games.

Can 3 people play this game?

At a minimum, I'd say 4 players. Ideally it is much more fun to play with 8 or more players because it is much more difficult to decide who is "mafia" in the group. I've tried to play with groups less than 5 and these games are very short and not as fun as having bigger groups.
