Boyt Harness Heart Shaped Handgun Case with Pocket

The pocket inside protects the front sight and muzzle, and helps keep the gun from moving too much. The outside pockets go all the way to the bottom of the case. I can't speak to the sturdiness or durability yetb it's OK for the price.

I just happened to have an Uberti 1872 Army Open-Top Revolver with a 7-½” barrel lying around and it needed a good case to protect it. After searching Amazon for a bit, I came across and settled on the Boyt Harness Heart Shaped Handgun Case with Pocket in the 14” length. I ordered one in basic black, of course.The case construction is excellent with a 22 oz. heavy-duty canvas outer covering and a very well stitched diamond pattern 40 oz. 100% cotton batting padding with Flannel lining. An inner vinyl pocket at the front of the case keeps the Uberti muzzled, although I do confess to using an additional silicon treated gun sock for extra protection.The case zipper is heavy-duty and a heavy-stitched vinyl backbone adds durability and strength to the case. Internally, there is also a riveted piece at the muzzle end that adds extra protection for the front sight of the chosen handgun being stored.Two outer zipped pockets are provided where I can keep spare ammunition, cleaning supplies, owner’s manual, and/or a copy of the best shooting session target for bragging rights. Since the side pockets extend nearly the full length of the case, numerous Slim-Jim sticks can also be stored to provide a snack during a difficult and long range session. :>)Finally, there is a D-ring that allows you to carry the case or to attach whatever you want that is D-ring compatible. Or, the zipper can be padlocked to the D-ring to keep curious, but honest, people honest.All in all, the Boyt Harness Heart Shaped Handgun Case with Pocket is an excellent product that provides full protection for your valuable hand gun (or long gun) and Boyt cases are my first choice in seeking protection for my firearms.

Pretty nice durable case with pocket inside to secure my SiG P226/w optic sight .Gave 4 stars instead of 5 because, my case is hard to unzip when zipped closed with weapon is inside.The zipper binds when start to unzip maybe stitching of the zipper I guess. I didn't return it because the case is a good fit, and hopefully the zipper will work itself out to unzip more smoothly in time. Also when my pistol in the case it's too large to make use of the outside pockets.

This is a top quality handgun case and comes with a lifetime guarantee. It is generally superior to most other ones on the market. So far I've purchased 5 of these cases and they are consistently excellent in quality of construction and materials. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that they are somewhat expensive and unfortunately made overseas. One would think that with the lower production cost overseas, the price would be comparable or just slightly higher than the competition. If they priced these cases at or just slightly above the competitors, they would have little trouble capturing the majority of the market.Update 11/11/2015I received my 8th Boyt handgun case (a 10" model) from Amazon yesterday and I was sadly disappointed with this case. The stitching that attaches the leather "spline" to the underside of the case was unraveling and, missing stitches and had some elongated thread loops. The case was still functional, but not the quality I've come to expect from Boyt (especially at their cost). There is no way this case could have made it through a reasonable quality control inspection. Fortunately Amazon is replacing the case, but I hope this is not a indication that Boyt is giving up quality for the sake of profit. I would have rated this 10" case a two star but amazon will not allow me to write a separate review. A message to Boyt: Bring you manufacturing back to the USA.

Well made of canvas and leather. Goes perfectly with vintage items. The pockets on either side are very useful for storing small items related to whatever's in the main compartment. Adds a touch of class and elevates the visual aspect.

I use it to protect my SW J frame. It has a D ring so I can put a pad lock on it when I bring it to the range. The build quality is excellent.

Over the years I've had many brands of gun rug cases & this 14" Boyt is the best. It has a rugged canvas outer shell, a thick quilted soft flannel interior with a barrel muzzle pocket to protect muzzle from hitting interior edge of zipper. It also has (2) deep exterior zipper pockets on each side of case. At the range the rug remained flat, no curling.The outside spine trim looks like leather. My High Standard Olympic fits perfectly with its 6.75" barrel & measuring at the longest almost 12". I wouldn't use this 14" case with a gun longer than 12.5" at its greatest length. I ordered the dark green color & with it's brown leather trim, looks rich. Yes, it has a premium price but the case is worth it. When you consider today's high prices for firearms it is a small price to protect your investment. I plan on replacing some of my old inferior cases with these Boyts.

10" is perfect for my new lady Pistol, an 3.60" barrel 9mm Witness Pavona. Was a little surprised at the dark moss green of interior fabric. But is nice neutral color that will make any similar sized handgun look great. Holds pistol in muzzle pocket well with magazine inserted but not snapped into magazine well, and another magazine resting in the same pocket with gun ejection port side down. Flannel type fabric is soft enough don't have to worry about marring finish. There are few quality cases for this size pistol that can fit with inside the case a 10 round & 13 round magazine..It's always nice when pistols & their magazines can be together whether in locked gun safe or range bag. Sure thinking about adding this brand as replacement for current soft cases. Whether an expensive handgun or budget one, take care of your weapons, your heirs will thank you!
