Can I use it with water? Or it comes with the oil already?

This stone is impregnated with oil at the factory for improved performance. Using addtional oil as a sharpening lubricant is our recommended method for optimal performance. However, using water as a lubricant will not damage the stone and can be used at your discretion.

What is the best way to store this in between uses?

one way to store the stone after use is to buy a plastic storage container on amazon.a problem with that is that if you use oil to sharpen your knives,eventually the storage container will get oily as well.i store my sharpening stone after use,i wrap the stone in a cloth,what oil I used on the stone,and then I place it in a zip lock bag so the stone and oil do not dirty surfaces or other peoples cloths if they were to touch the wrapped stone by accident.i have been doing this for years.the oil on the stone helps the stone from wearing easily and the heat between the stone and the knife is not intense on the stone .this is simple and easy and are items that you have around the house and have no expense what so ever. My stone soaks up oil too quick. Is this normal.

Milton, not trying to be anything but helpful but(alot of people use the wrong oils) what oil are you using? I use white mineral oil because it is viscous and is a good oil to leave on blades for storage. Also, what time frame is "too quick" I usually reapply a small amount (maybe nickel size) drop each time I turn a small blade (10" or so) so thats maybe 5-10 minutes if I'm taking my time and focusing on bevels. I coat the entire stone when sharpening larger blades. Hope this helps.

This is an oil stone. Diamond stones of higher grit (600-1200) are recommended for ceramic knives. Be careful when sharpening a ceramic knife. They break easily.

Great!!! Until I opened the box 😏

I have been using Norton sharpening stones for over 20 years being in the butchery trade. Always been an excellent sharping stone and this being no exception. But. . . When I opened the box due to insufficient packaging sadly the corner of my stone was damage during transit. So only real complaint is better protective packaging would be appreciated. Thank you kindly 😊

Hard oil stone. nice!

Hard wearing, ready oiled, I use honing oil though. Very impressed, I dressed up 7 old chisels this morning. Made very easy work of it. Always buy better not the unknown Chinese whetstones - they don’t last 5 minutes before they start wearing out
