The stakes have never been higher than in the final installment of Magisterium from the bestselling powerhouses of Holly Black and Cassandra Clare. Callum Hunt has been a hero and an outcast, a force of good and a portent of evil. While the doors of the Magisterium have been open to him, he has never felt entirely welcome. If anything, he has felt others' resentment . . . and fear. Now, as he begins his final year at the magical school, his place is less certain than ever. With one unique exception, he is estranged from most of his friends. A furtive darkness still hounds him. And the greatest challenge he will ever face is right around the corner. In this monumental conclusion to the Magisterium series, bestselling authors Holly Black and Cassandra Clare push Callum to the brink of annihilation, showing how magic has the ability to both save and doom, create and destroy. Review: Good book - Love this book series. Review: I'll consider it a win! - By the time my 13-year-old reached The Golden Tower, the final book in the Magisterium series, he was all in. And let me tell you, this book sticks the landing. It wraps up the story with plenty of action, epic twists, and enough emotional weight to make even a teenager look up from their screen and feel things. For a 13-year-old, this finale hits all the right notes. It tackles big questions about destiny, redemption, and friendship—things that might just resonate with a middle schooler navigating their own coming-of-age journey (or at least their homework). The fast pace and snarky humor keep it engaging, while the high-stakes battles and surprising revelations make it impossible to stop reading. If your teen has stuck with the Magisterium this long, The Golden Tower will deliver the satisfying, heart-pounding conclusion they’ve been waiting for. And as a bonus, you get to smile knowing a kid who once avoided books like vegetables now devours fantasy series whole. A total win for everyone!

A good preteen series
This is a simple series with a good storyline. An easy escape book with a straightforward, good vs evil plot.

Wonderful Conclusion...or is it!!
What a wonderful conclusion to the Magisterium series!! I truly believe this wrapped up so well and I couldn't be happier. Even though this is a middle grade series I loved that it went a little darker. Dealing with dark topics and the such. I think it gives a great depth and perception to the young audience that middle grade is geared to, that life is not always rainbows and butterflies, and that it truly can be challenging. However with that being said it also teaches us that no matter what situation in life is dragging you down, there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel. Now that I got that little spiel out of the way, let's proceed with a actual review. The Golden Tower picks up a year later and action ensues almost instantly. The stories and plot to this entire series are always quick and to the point. Their were some great plot moments in this final book and some great character moments as well. There was one part in the book where I kind of predicted what was going to happen next but in my head I was hoping it wouldn't happen. This is made for a younger audience so it's harder for them to pick out what is what, but I still find it enjoyable regardless when my theories come true. With this being a final book, I am sad to see this story end but I am hopeful that Cassandra Clare and Holly Black will revisit this world in the future. Great Series for Readers of All Ages
This is a wonderful series because it is fast-paced and funny while showing the harsh reality that sometimes people are put in difficult situations where they have to make hard decisions about right and wrong. All of the major characters are interestingly flawed and there is a decent representation of diversity amongst the cast in terms of race and romantic orientation. Most of the plot twists are easy for adults to predict, but young readers will be surprised and adults can appreciate the accurate portrayal of late childhood / early adolescence. I recommend this series to people of all ages if they are fans of magic and snarky humor!

Books worth reading twice, much better plot than Harry Potter
I liked this series better than Harry Potter. It was a lot less full of self loathing and made more sense fundamentally as a story. I would recommend it for sure! I don’t understand why women write from little boys’ perspectives so often and why the girls are so often written to be icy, super smart and distant introverts... but that’s something authors could work on. It’s sad that so many women write so few strong good women characters and how ultimately it’s about pairing off and mating instead of just living. It would be cool if there was a second set of books that followed their journey as they grew into adults . Things were just getting interesting when the series ended! There was a lot more to explore and the authors had some legitimately multi-dimensional characters. A lot of twists and turns and things not being what they seemed. Good story telling, excellent in fact! I will read them again.
