Little pieces of fashion history...
This book is very, very good. Fashion students (like myself) who don't know about clothes and its past, and also know very little about iconic fashion designers and labels will find this book a life saver on where to start their research. If you fell lost, leafing trough this dictionary is a great way to begin.

I sell pre-owned and vintage clothing, shoes and accessories online, and purchased this as a companion to some other texts for research. It is not an exhaustive or complete dictionary by any means. Only a few of the designers I have attempted to research appear, and I deal mostly with common and popular labels. An even smaller percentage of fashion definitions and terms that are relevant to my purposes are listed (but the ones that appear are well described). The photographs and illustrations are beautiful. It is written in clear, simple language and contains many cross references to design houses, designers and definitions, which is indeed helpful.I believe this would make a nice addition to a beginner's collection or a fan of fashion in general, but for the professional or student this is lacking a great deal of information.
