I simply hooked up the lightning male to my phone, hooked up HDMI cable to the converter and TV, next plugged the phone charger into the adapter and I can see everything on the big screen in few minutes. Watching movies while charging, don’t worry about not seeing a full movie.Regarding the first use of this device, I have some details to share.1, Insert the lightning cable into the 5V/2A USB AC Adapter2, When you plug the lightning to HDMI device into your phone, the phone will prompt you to trust this device, which is the most critical step, which is to click trust. Then wait 5 seconds to use it.3, Apple mobile phone system needs to be IOS 11 and before to use it.I watched most people feedback that this product can’t be used. I think either they didn’t plug in the charger, or they didn’t click to trust the device, or the IOS system was too early, no updates.If you feel that the content I share is useful, you can give me click helpful. Save your money & buy the one from Apple. I bought this before a 3 week vacation & unfortunately didn't test it out before I left. When I plugged in the HDMI cable, it didn't work at all. It had to also be plugged into a power source to actually work. This makes it really difficult if there's not an extra outlet right by the tv, plus it's just annoying to have to charge it while it's plugged into your iPad.Once plugging it in to power & the HDMI cable, I had sound but no picture. Upon reading message boards online, you apparently have to download a separate app to get the sound & picture to BOTH work. Overall, this was a pain in the ass & it's worth the money to just invest in one from Apple that doesn't require all the extra stuff.

The quality is totally fake (poor) I am so disappointed I have another one and you can tell a totally different between them this one is extremely fake but I didn’t care I connected it and it did work for 30 seconds and the screen went black again so I did this again and again and I had the same results the thing got really hotHi so I just don’t know what to do paid $20 for this this is what I make in two hours of working I am best at it in here and that was the worst thing I could do specially with this coronavirus going aroundAll I wanted was to entertain my kids but it’s not gonna work I thought because it was $20 it was going to work because there was like $10 ones so I was like no I’ll get them more expensive one but it’s sucked

Even the slightest touch will cause the image to blank out for about 4-5 seconds. I’ve solved the problem by taping the adapter to a solid surface and connect to 2 two meter lightning cables. Even then the unit gets very hot. For a genuine Apple product it sure is a piece of crap.This is third one I’ve had to buy as there is no alternative.

I have an iPhone and we have an Apple TV, so we don't need this device for our house, but when we go to my parents' house, I can't show pictures or videos on the TV because there's only a Roku. So this device is perfect for their house. We just plug a charger in to provide power to the device, plug in the HDMI cable to the TV, plug my phone in and BOOM, instant mirroring! We didn't even need to download the app the instructions said to get, so that made it even easier! When playing a video, it takes over the whole screen, and you could easily stream a movie from your phone.

I purchased the adapter to sync my iPad to my smart TV to watch live stream TV and videos, and it works perfectly! It was easy to connect and setup in minutes... no apps or installation needed. The adapter is well constructed. I'm very pleased with the product!

This product is designed nicely and looks like it could be a true Apple product. I needed this device to connect my iPad to my smart TV. I had two issues 1) image was mirrored with no sound or 2) no image but sound worked.

This doesn’t allow you to play any pay streaming apps from your phone onto the TV (Netflix, Amazon, DAZN). You can watch other stuff that’s not on a pay channel, but I wanted it for DAZN specifically because it doesn’t work good with my TV
