Super Hazard Quest, Boss Monster and Dokapon Kingdom
I own every Boss Monster expansion and this goes very well with it. Super Hazard Quest has completely different game play yet the look and atmosphere is the same as Boss Monster. They both have the retro look, references to other popular games and the overall plot is basically the same (Heroes have to go into a dungeon to beat a boss as rooms in the dungeon are being built by drawing and flipping over cards). Boss Monster is basically answering the question, "What if you were a card game version of a final boss to a video game?" Then Super Hazard Quest answers the question, "What if you were one of the heroes from Boss Monster?" I cannot unsee the game play in Super Hazard Quest unfolding behind the scenes of Boss Monster now (and the reverse also). It has the flexibility to be played competitively, cooperatively or some sort of combination of the two. The rules support both although only one player gets to defeat the boss at the end. The rules are actually pretty simple despite the lengthy rule book. There are 10 main obstacles in the game. Four of them are directions you can go. Four of them are different ways to fight monsters. You have to match one of your abilities or cards in your hand to get past these obstacles. The ninth type of obstacle are Mini bosses. They require you to match several of the previously listed obstacles at once. You get a prize for beating them that could be the item you need to beat the boss when you meet them. The boss requires a crystal matching its color to beat it. You can work with other players or undermine their efforts. If you liked the combat in Dokapon Kingdom (a Playstation 2 and Nintendo Wii game) you may like fighting other players in this game too (for those that don't know this underrated video game, the concept is similar to rock, paper, scissors). This game is longer and harder when you aren't playing it as a co op game. The only thing I would change about this game is the art for one of the bosses. They look cool but they are just the same guy in two different colors. If they ever come out with expansion for this, I would get it!

Amazingly simple game with complex strategy!
LOVE this game! It has a great mechanics, a perfect nostalgic visual style, and unpredictable play. As a kid from the 80's they hit every note on this one. I bought the expansions from their website (even the co-op/solo mode), bought them as gifts for a couple of people, and plan to use this game in a game design and play camp this summer. If you ever played NES, you'll love it. If you like randomized game maps, you'll love it. If you're my girlfriend, you won't love it but will play it because you love me. If you think you might want this game, BUY IT!

A fun game to play many times
I definitely liked the video game theme and artwork, but the gameplay was very fun too. There were a couple rules that seemed a little unclear or hard to understand, like the definition of backtracking, but overall it seemed pretty simple. The randomized dungeon deck really makes it a different experience every time, and I think this game has a lot of replay value. I gave it to my cousins for Christmas, but then I ended up borrowing it for a while because I liked it so much.

Fun but needs more tokens
It’s an excellent game! I definitely recommend it! The art style is amazing. The manual looks like a NES game manual. 👾 the game play is fun but we ran out of physical tokens for the hazards. I feel like it needs twice as many tokens

Creative and Fun!!
One of the funniest board games I've played so far. Really brings you intro the retro world of dungeon exploring. The design and art work of the game is fun and it is really easy to learn. A "HUGE" recommendation to purchase!!

Super fun game!
This is such a fun game! I bought it for my husband who is a huge video game nerd but it’s actually fun for me to play too as a non-gamer. It’s a great game to play with two people or with more. We did have an issue with receiving the wrong item the first time (a single expansion pack rather than the game itself) but the seller was very helpful in getting us the right order.Definitely recommend as a fun game for gamers and non-gamers alike!

Lots of fun. Kids enjoyed it too!
We loved it on our first play! Pretty easy to get the hang of, and if you grew up playing old school Nintendo games, it brings back all the nostalgia. Are you going to be the “polish carpenter” or the “elf of legend?” Haha. Srsly ... we loved this game. I highly recommend.

Horrible instructions
The instructions describe every aspect of the game, except movement across the dungeon. Do you move from hazard to hazard? I see boxes, how are the hazards placed? They really needed to play their own game and get the instructions right.
