I have read so many reviews about people saying their kids ripped this apart to get their phone back and it's flimsy. NO DUH. It literally says gag gift on the description. if you want a display piece this works. If you just need your phone out of sight out of mind, yes. THIS IS A PRODUCT YOU BUY FOR 9 DOLLARS. IT IS NOT MADE OF STEEL. It is cheap plastic, I feel like I almost broke it assembling it. If you need to actually prevent someone who is uncooperative to not use a phone or device you will literally have to buy a more expensive and durable product. If you just want to put your phone away or restrict your usage of it, this is wonderful. You can literally fit your fingers in the bar and use the phone still, just know what you paid for.

I'm a high school teacher & we constantly have issues with students using cell phones in class. This cell phone jail sits on my desk. We have rules in school about cell phone use, but using the cell phone jail as a sort of warning before I take a phone up & turn it in to the administration has prevented me from having to take up phones & turn them in. When I catch someone on my phone I remind them that the first time, I collect the phone & put it in the cell phone jail, but the next time it goes to the office. So far, I've only had to issue warnings. I think they see the cell phone jail as very real, shows I mean business & I'm not giving empty warnings or threats. It has also saved me lots of time because I haven't had to collect & turn in phones.

This cell phone jail is more of a metaphor than a true cellphone incarcerator. Any kid could dissemble it in a matter of seconds. But it is perfect as a reminder that the people in front of you are more important than your stupid TikTok, Instagram, Tumblr, or Tinder virtual "friends". Put your damn phone down already!!

I got this as more of a symbolic way to consciously use our phones less. But this was a cheap plastic toy. Again… good concept… poor quality.

Needed a jail for the bad guys. This works great. It comes with two keys so I have one and my 3 year old grandsons have one. Will last till parents need it for cell phones but its great fun for now.

It gets the job done. It’s flimsy and I can take my iPhone out of it when locked without damaging the phone or the phone cage. But it’s only used by adults and it serves its purpose to keep us away from our phones when needed. I like it for the price.

I guess I missed the part about being a gag gift due to not reading the fine print. As soon as I opened this product, I laughed and said "this has got to be a joke" and it sure is. Unless you plan to put it together using some heavy duty gorilla glue, don't waste your time or money.
