Mushkin Helix-L – 1TB PCIe NVMe 1.3 – M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) – Gen3 x4 – 3D TLC - (MKNSSDHL1TB-D8)

I wanted to replace my last and final disk-based drive and I'm using the more expensive Samsung EVO as my primary. As a secondary drive what can say, I have no complaints. Install was a snap and the drive is super zippy and works great in the role it serves. But the price is a "cannot go wrong" part of that equation. Very happy with the purchase.

I use these drives for lower-demand client builds. They're significantly faster than any hard drive on the market, making them a significant upgrade for my clients. They're inexpensive enough that I can justify having an NVMe over a SATA M.2 drive. They're durable. They're reliable. I have absolutely no complaints, and absolutely plan to use Mushkin more.

Very fast SSD, doesn't overheat and has never crashed or lost data after a year of using it.

The SSD is a great replacement. The recommended one is 4x the price. This one works well, speed is good and so far it operates well.

Plugged in, secured with a screw (does not come with the drive), and cloned old SSD with commonly available free cloning software. Much faster than the SSD it replaced. I did add a copper chipset cooler over the controller chip on the topside of the drive. I ordered and installed the 1 TB version. So far, so good. Would have given "Easy to install" 5 stars had it come with a screw and if it had free cloning software provided on the manufacturer's website.. Will add to the review at the one-year mark. Longevity remains an unknown.

Used daily in my system for 2 years this month. My MSI B550 Motherboard has two NVMe(?) drive slots. I use it in the second slot for games and data storage. Never had a problem with it.

I was in great need of a faster storage device for gaming and not sitting at loading screens on Total War: WH3 for 10 minutes at a time while using a normal HDD this drive made my load times go down to < 30 seconds

I bought this for a computer that was built about 3-4 years ago that used a 120 gig Sata SSD boot drive that was almost full from OS bloat. My MSI motherboard did not really tell me whether it could see the drive or not easily as it uses a PCI interface rather than the traditional Sata. (This may be due to the PCI interface being relatively newish and will probably be easier to identify in the future). A fresh windows install did see the drive though and my boot times are amazing! A few seconds after I press the power button, I am ready to go. While some of this is due to a fresh install of OS, it also is due to the amazing read speed of the drive.

Good 1tb game drive, so far no problems encountered. It has 930gb, little less than 1tb but its expected and loads games really quick. Will update in a few months from now to see if everything is still good but so far no complains here! 5/5 stars

Failed after nearly 3 years and as a EU buyer it's stupidly expensive to send it in for an RMA.

This Mushkin Helix-L 1TB NVMe SSD was used as a Windows OS boot drive under very light usage (no heavy writes, no server workload). Despite that, it failed in under 3 years, which is unacceptable for an NVMe SSD marketed for everyday use. What makes this worse is the warranty/RMA process, especially for Canadian and international customers. Although the drive is technically under warranty, Mushkin requires the customer to pay international shipping to the U.S. before any replacement is sent. From Canada, the shipping cost is nearly the same as buying a brand-new NVMe SSD from a better brand. There is no prepaid return label, no cross-shipping, and no local RMA option. Yes, Mushkin will ship the replacement back, but only after you absorb all the cost, time, and risk. In practice, the warranty is economically pointless. Pros: ✔ Acceptable performance (when it works) Cons: ✘ Poor long-term reliability ✘ OS drive failed early ✘ Expensive, outdated RMA process ✘ Not consumer-friendly outside the U.S. Final verdict: This is a budget NVMe SSD with budget reliability and budget support. When reliability and warranty actually matter, brands like Samsung, Western Digital, or Crucial are a much safer choice. I would not buy this SSD again.

Es bastante rapida es recomendable que utilizen un disipador para estas unidades e leeido que se les queman es por eso no les ponen disipador al menos que no quieras gastar en un disipador solo utilizala para que arranque el sistema y nada mas pero calidad precio la verdad muy buena

Llevo ya un mes con él y no he tenido ningún problema. Instalé mi distro preferido en una laptop y jala rapidísimo. Por el precio es insuperable, no encontré un SSD NVMe nuevo con mejor relación calidad-precio, es más ni en usados, donde la mayoría son OEMs a un precio similar. Super recomendable!!
