Madonna - The Complete Studio Albums 1983 - 2008

... and I assume that's coming later (and when it does, Warner Bros, you better do a true box set justice, not another cheap job like this. Start with the gayest design company you can find so the box won't be as tacky as this one... fire whatever boring ass chick came up with this cover artwork and dulled out gold design). BUT in the meantime it's a nice little collection for die hard fans, a good way to look back and even re-discover the CDs that were considered disappointments but are actually quite wonderful (see "American Life"). The little cardboard covers are cool enough since we're all sick of that plastic piling up in landfills and it's nice to have them all in one place, just like my Smiths box set. There's nothing new here but get it for the right price (see the Marketplace) and it's a good deal for fans -- or their offspring who need introduction to one of the great pop stars.

I recommend. It’s a special celebration for a big singer and artist.

Excellent concept of a product packaging Madonna’s first 11 studio records in a very affordable way. I am not too put off by the absence of booklets for each. What would have made me give this a 5 star rating was if the cardboard stock for both the clamshell case and the sleeves were sturdier. They are a bit too thin. They will survive only with delicate care. So keep away from kids and don’t lend around. It would have probably been nice as well to have one nice booklet on the inside with a bit of a tribute or career write up covering the album period and including a few other pics and at least the writing credits for each song. I would have paid a bit more for these additions and then it would be an absolutely flawless gem. In any event it is still a very good value for money worth getting.

Excellent collection for the money, obviously. Don't forget to pick up I'm Breathless and The Immaculate Collection to round things out.

I got this set to replace all my vinyl, and CD collection that I lost in a fire. It has all her albums from 1983 to 2008, when I think she was producing some of her best. She has always made great music, and this will give you a whole bunch of the Material Girl, when she was just that! Madonna is an artist that most people either love or hate depending on your musical taste. I love her and I really love having all this music in one set. Great way to get most albums for less cost.

Possedevo già questo cofanetto uscito nel 2012, in contemporanea con la pubblicazione di 'Mdna' ma ho voluto acquistare la ristampa del 2019 della Warner Records. In effetti, essendo un collezionista, lo cercavo proprio per il nuovo logo Warner sulla box. Quanto al contenuto, beh stiamo parlando di Madonna, l'unica vera regina del pop. La box contiene tutti gli album di studio pubblicati tra il 1983 e il 2008, da "Madonna" a "Hard Candy". I cd sono contenuti in cartoncini (identici a quelli utilizzati per la pubblicazione dei singoli 2-tracks fino ai primi anni '00, gli appassionati capiranno di cosa parlo). Di conseguenza mancano tutti i booklet degli album. E questo, naturalmente, fa perdere valore alla pubblicazione. In compenso è un ottimo modo per avere (quasi) tutta la discografia di Madonna a portata di mano.
