I have had absolutely no problem getting perfect spheres from this mold. I am amazed by how clear the ice becomes once you pour your spirit of choice into the glass. My only complaint is that the mold takes up a lot of room in the freezer. I also bought the mold that makes the large cubes of ice. So, when they're both in the freezer, it's a genuine game of Tetris to stack everything else around them. For me, the results are worth that small inconvenience.

Good but slow
Does a pretty good job. Mostly clear spheres. It is slow though, after each slow form ball you have to let it melt enough to refill the base.

These work well, will describe my process below
I have the skulls. They work well. They are a knockoff of a very nice and far more expensive product. The key concept to understand as you use these is "directional freezing". 1. It does take some time to freeze. 2. They are easier to open if you let them warm for perhaps 5 minutes (also warmer ice is less fragile). 3. Don't store plastic pieces long term in the freezer, the plastic will crack. 4. If you wish to store the ice, use an airtight container (I use ziploc bags). This dramatically slows down sublimation (ice evaporating directly into gas as freezers are very dry). It's tough to get the air entirely out of the skull molds. I ended up buying a 5 gallon bucket so I could submerge them completely. They work very well if you are willing to do the legwork. None of my friends have clear ice skulls in their cocktails. :)

So far it's the best mold for the money.
The media could not be loaded. So cool... I used it for the first time last night. It took a bit of tug to remove the mold when removing the ice cubes. Surprisingly it was really well constructed there's not a lot of information on the Internet about it but believe me it's well worth it's better than my Winter Smith that I paid a lot of money for.Crystal clear ice cubes!!! I've tried other ice ball molds, ice balls were always foggy. Now I'm happy. I'm sitting here enjoying my first ice cube in a small glass of Scotch as I type :)

UPDATED REVIEW: Works, but....
Does as advertised! Produces crystal clear ice skulls.BUT: The skulls are a little small compared to some of the other spheres and molds. Also, making them is a bit of a process. You gotta heat up the water, and a lot of it. About 3 cups to create two skulls. There is a biproduct to each set of skulls; about 2 cups of frozen ice block. So if you are using bottled water, like me, you won’t want to waste it. So you can either keep the excess ice chunks, or discard them. But either way, you’re waiting for it to melt enough before you can even remove them to start the next mold.I like these but it’s kind of a PITA so I could see myself neglecting this product.UPDATED 1/8/19:After about the first month of use, the kit has started producing white flakes in the mold. I have scrubbed it, washed it, scrubbed it again, washed it again, tried everything, and the flakes return. I can only suspect these white flakes are plastic, flaking off into the ice, and eventually my beverage. Completely and utterly disappointed by this product, and I am angry that I missed the return window from Amazon. The kit is now trash, along with my 35 bucks. Take a look at the pics I have shared.UPDATED AGAIN!!! 1/21/19Okay, so to be fair, I have given this item some stars back. It is still a little bit too much of a process for me, but the white flakes are gone. After shopping for a different brand, I discovered the white flakes are not plastic, but actually a byproduct of the actual water used. This can happen with any brand kit out there. I had been using Zephyrhills bottled water, but it turns out some waters have more minerals than others. Through the slowed process of these types of kits, the calcium and minerals to clump and turn into the white mess you see in my pictures. So after this I have started using this kit again.... When I have time.

Awesome clear ice
Clear Skull kit works perfect. I do them in batches to add to a large freezer zip bag so I always have clear ice on hand. I was making my own with a small cooler where the process is essentially same (for ice freezing) but having to take the ice block out and cut was a pain. I just use hot tap water and this Skull kit works perfect. The cubes are medium sized, perfect for my 8oz Old Fashioned glasses, my slightly 10oz glasses would be better with a larger sphere.

Fail?
There’s a label that says “Fail” already on top of the box when I received it. Should I even try? I guess I’ll just return it..

Decent results, but not perfect. Technique advice?
So far, I've succeeded only in getting "mostly" clear ice spheres. I get the same results whether I use hot or cold water. The unit is well constructed, and the sphere is very easily removed. Also, while the ice sphere is easy to remove, the ice in the bottom portion it is not, and one must wait for that to melt before refilling for the next round. I considered microwaving it, but I'm not sure if the item is microwave safe.I would be interested to hear if anyone has any techniques suggestions for getting one hundred percent clear spheres or how to more quickly remove the "bottom ice", and I'll happily update my rating accordingly if they work.
