Morpho: Joint Forms and Muscular Functions (Morpho: Anatomy for Artists): 6

Bought 5 of this authors books now for my daughter. She says they are amasing and really help her art. the way the spine is glued 1 side means the pages lay flat. They are a handy size to carry around too. Definitely recommended.

This book accompanied with the Morpho Simplified Forms book is excellent, it shows exactly what you need to create poses that don't look 'iffy'. I purposely bought this to assist in creating unique and imagined poses for manga style drawings, I am 100% certain using these books will help as I have only been using it for a day and have seen a huge improvement!

Great for learning basic anatomy for artists! Teaches you all the important shapes and structures.

Theis book is like the perfect pocket guide for simplified anatomy, with some really useful sketches inside to reference. It opens flat, which is useful for referencing, the images are high quality enough, and I had no problem reading the text. It's great for illustration and posebuilding from imagination. The pocket, however, is quite literal. These books are no bigger than A5, and are about 1 or 2cm thick. It makes them handy for carrying around, but like many other reviews here, the lack of size images in the listing can be quite deceiving. Because the spine of the book isn't glued to the cover except for the back page (I assume to allow the book to open flat) the book feels a bit flimsier than you'd expect. Despite it's flimsiness, I'd highly reccomend this book as a pocket guide alongside another more substansial anatomy book.

I bought 3 of the Morpho books(Hands and feet, Fat and skin folds, and joint forms and muscular functions) and all of them are great references and study books. I draw comics and was able to make use of them immediately as references. Very easy to quickly open and find a useful reference on the fly. The books are small, they are 7inchs by 5inchs. I personally love the small size. I've seen people mention the binding, that the paperback cover is not attached to the pages so I just wanted to say it's supposed to be that way. I really like the style of these books. It would be amazing to get more topics such as clothing/fabric from the same author. I would be interested in anything they choose to put out as I like their style.

Great book for studying the details of anatomy subjects

I do like the old fashion Bridgman books from Stoffer Bliksem, The Legacy. Lots of artistic vintage sketches. But the Morpho Muscular Joint Functions is beyond exceptional! So helpful and well covered in positions of muscles, joints and deep connective tissue. And it folds flat! More than I expected. A must have :)

As a Full Tenured Professor of Art, the “Morpho Anatomy for Artists” book, specifically the “Joint Forms and Muscular Functions”, is a handy quick reference book. It is visually impactful and visually draws the anatomy of the human body well. While it does not give a lot of wordy explanations, it does visually communicate the movement of the body. I purchased this book to use in my classroom as a quick reference guide. It is lightweight and easy to access due to the smaller size. Packs a punch full of drawings to problem solve quickly how to draw anatomy. I highly recommend for upper level high school to college level sophomore.
