I bought these to secure a single scull rowing boat - I needed secure strong straps but wanted the additional protection so the metal parts wouldn't damage the hull. The soft backing behind the buckle does the job perfectly, so I'm very pleased. Worth paying the extra compared to standard straps.

Brought this as I liked the idea of the rubber bit under the metal fastener to protect what ever I was securing. But it snapped the second time using it. Its still a sturdy strap, but the reason I chose this one has deemed pointless.

Had one of these since the 1980s and it still works, but concerned about using it for a surfboard now, so bought this. Buckle is coated to prevent corrosion and having the silicone bumper helps, along with the strap to contain the coil and keep it tidy.

S2S always make good products and this is another well designed piece of kit. Good confidence nothing is coming off your roof on the highway!

First one of these the neoprene Buckle snapped but immediately replaced by amazon and had no trouble since. Great tie downs easy to use.
