not good for wine or beer.
I homebrew wine, and a friend of my asked me for some wine and gave me two of these Ikeas bottles. I had used swing type Grolsch style bottles before with no issue. These where new bottles and it may work well for a thick liquid but not for wine or any no viscous liquid. The seal is very weak. So I added my wine and notice that the aroma comes out of the bottle, this was the first sign that the bottle leaks, Since I had two I decided to fill the other one as it was possible maybe just one bottle was bad. Same thing happened. I then decided to put the bottles upside down and an hour later both where dripping. I ended up sealing the bottles with wax and gave them to my friend and told her that the seals on the bottle are not optimum. With my Grolsch style bottles made for brewing you should not have aroma seeping out after it is locked and it should not leak even if the bottle is inverted. So you may be better off with a different brand one meant for brewing, if seal is important. I would not try this brand for homebrewing beer as carbonation would dissipate due to leakage.

The best to use for water I distill at home
I love these bottles for the use of water. We only drink distilled water. The PH is O and sometimes enriched with some electrolytes. Reverse osmosis water turns sour a soon as it comes in touch with oxygen. I don't trust any other water anymore. I buy the bottles at the Swedish furniture house IK.... you know where, online or in-store for much less. I never tried to put wine or something else in it. So I don't know about dripping. To keep them clean I put them in the dishwasher with a high heat water rinse and then sanitize circle. That's much more important to me. Thanks for reading.
