Perfect!
Bought for my whippet so that she can have the freedom to run around as we have no secure fields near. Can't fault it! Strong, long and does the job. One happy whippet!

Superman isn’t my style
Having never used a training lead before I most probably was doing it all wrong or bought the wrong type of lead for purpose..I deliberately picked a very long lead to give my dog the freedom to roam while I had the comfort of knowing she was still under my control. She is a large crossbreed that I can’t fully trust with other dogs so off lead is a no go.I had not accounted for what to do with all the excess (I’m used to extending leads) so I loosely wrapped it around my arm in big loops. In reality a lead half the length (15m) would have been plenty. The walk went well. I had a good balance of slack and reeling in.. then we saw another dog!The lead wasn’t officially to blame for what happened next, but needless to say it went in the bin never to be used again. We distract our dog with a ball to take her attention away from other dogs, I had in mind gentle throws, my son did not. The first throw I got nasty friction burns across several of my fingers, the second throw.. bearing in mind the lead is 30m long, must have gone 35m+ and I did not have time to unravel myself before my dog catapulted me across the field in a superman type pose.Long story short I broke my shoulder in 3 places! Ouch!!As I say, I think the lead was the least at fault for what happened (possibly just a serious lack of common sense from the humans involved) but I thought my story may be helpful to anyone searching for a lead for a similar reason.Buy this lead by all means, but only if you are going to use it correctly. Basically avoid doing everything I did! :)

Be careful, its not auto retractable
I knew what I was buying but its just after I got and used it, did I truly comprehend. If your dog is a bit unruly like mine is, e.g. likes running into ditches and jumping on strangers, do not use this product where there are people around. I'm used to 5m retractable leads where I'm largely able to control the dog but using this product is a bit of a clusterfcuk if the dog has 15m of freedom and another human comes into sight. I found myself wrapping 15m of nylon cord around my arm to rein her in. Personally I think there's only one use for this product and that's to be used in a field where no one else apart from you and your dog is present, otherwise you'll find yourself soon out of your comfort zone if you're used to a retractable lead.

Does the job
I have a border terrier cross with ZERO recall. Bought this so i can allow him a little bit more roaming space when out walking. Allows us to play and explore without the fear of losing him. Brilliant lead that delivers on its description. . Fairly easy to manage as long as you dont mind manually spooling slack as your dog runs back and forth. Seems like a thick and sturdy lead although the clip is a little on the thin side. Fine for a dog as small as mine but may be strained with larger breeds. Would buy again!

Good value but may not last long with a big dog
This lead is lightweight and easy to rinse off. For a basic lead the webbing is comfortable and has a bit of "give" to it which is nice once you get used to that feeling. However it has a plastic slider to adjust the length. This was set to around 20cm up the lead from the clip when it arrived with me so I left it as it was. The first time my dog took a pull the slider shot up to the clip. I thought nothing of it other than it was a bit of a useless feature, but I had no intention of shortening the lead in that way anyway as it would create a loop to get stuck on trees and bushes. I inspected the slider when we got home and it had actually snapped. This didn't seem to affect the use for the rest of the walk but I will return it as it has now created a weakness which I worry would cause the lead to detach from the clip at some point if stressed. I would advise setting the clip right up against the buckle before first use if you have a larger dog, which might prevent this happening. My dog is a 29kg lab x GSD.

Not the best but does the job
Pricey for the type of material it is.. Not strong as already had it come apart so I shortened it and tied the two broken ends together. The way I use it I attach to my dog and leave the lead on the floor rather than holding the end as it will get tangled. If my dog sees a distraction, ie people or other dogs she will tend to bolt off to see them and so I will stamp on the lead to stop her with my foot and ask her to come.. These leads are a must have for practicing recall. My pup has selective hearing and thinks other people want to fuss her and other dogs want to play, so she needs to learn to come back to me as obviously this is not always the case!

What a tangle we got into
I bought one of these to see if I could get my dog to recall. Great idea. And the lead is certainly of good quality and a fantastic length - but that is where the problem arises.Once you let you dear little chap run off on the end of one of these, the lovely coiled lead shown in the picture ends up a mass of tangles, covered in the cow pats that he managed to drag it through on the way.I love the product in terms of what it allows you to do, but someone needs to build some sort of rewind mechanism that allows you to reel n the dog - or at least the lead (may be an opportunity - I wonder if you can buy empty extension lead containers?)
