A Traveler in Indian Territory: The Journal of Ethan Allen Hitchcock (Volume 75) (American Exploration and Travel Series)

This is a journal written in the 1800's by Joshua Gregg as he traveled over the Territories going to Santa Fe, New Mexico. It is descriptive in the travel, the lay of the land and everyday events along the trip. Gregg was going West to improve his health and the fresh air, activity most certainly did that. He is a good journal keeper and I found it to be a stand by for Historical facts.

As a historian I must say that A Traveler in Indian Territory is one of the best books I've read in years. Ethan Allen Hitchcock is my new hero! The seller was fast and A-OK all the way.

Being from the region, I can really related to the places he visited and his insight into the Cherokee war is great
