I was able to get this on my airsoft mp5 and it feels sturdy. Easy to install, does not feel bulky, feels like high quality metal, and holds the sight with no movement!

Works

I purchased this for use with my VFC Elite Force MP5 A4. Mounts perfectly and I'm now able to use whatever optics I want to on my MP5. The rail mount is full metal but I'm not sure if this is chinesium or pot metal so I wouldn't be too comfortable to put this on a 9mm MP5, but if you have one of those, you'd have enough money for a real mount.

This may work on a lighter recoiling caliber rifle but not on a G3 in .308. A friend has such a rifle and given the price of this mount we thought what the heck, let's give it a try. You can take about five shots before the recoil slides this forward and then the scope/mount are laying sideways. Tried thread locker a second time just in case it was getting lose from the screws but no go, same thing happened where it slid forward. Worse yet, on this second try, one of the claws actually broke. The Chinese metallurgy is absolute crap on the steel claws. It may be tempting to try but don't bother buying if you've got a .308.

2 of the 4 screw retaining the clamps are not tightly down the clamps. So ended up useless

Outstanding solution for an MP5 optic mount. Sturdy. Centered. Well made with quality metal. All you can ask for.

For the price not bad, fits perfect and tight on my SW94 receiver MP5, got a chance to mount my redot, however it is loose, some digging reveals that this rail is weaver base and not Picatinny like the title states. Im sure if you have a weaver base red dot, this rail would be perfect.
