Fit perfectly
I just installed this dust hood on my delta model 22-540 type 2 planer and it fit perfectly. It was easy to install to the original mounting screws. The only thing you might want to do is add 2 small #10-24 screws to the front of the outlet to hold it tighter in place or the weight of your vacuume hose may hold it down. The part was shipped right away and I recieved it earlier than scheduled. The part came shipped in a original delta box packaced in another box that was filled with shipping padding to protect the product. Very Happy and no more mess in the floor.

Works Great
This dust collector works great on my Delta 12" planer (Model 22-540). It was easy to install. The only problem was matching the collector to a 2 1/2 inch Shop-Vac hose. What works is using a piece of 4" PVC tubing (Home Depot 2 ft Section) cut to 3 inches. This fits snugly to the collector. Any of the 4" to 2 1/2" reducers can be attached to this. (I used a Jet JW-1000.) You may need to wrap a little tape around the end to get a snug fit. From there I used a 2" x 2" PlumbQuick connector (Home Depot) Fernco P1056-22. It comes equipped with Hi-Gear clamps so its adjustable and will fit the 2 1/2" connections nicely.

Best too addition ever
I only connected it to a large Shopvac using a 4 to 2 inch reducer and it worked like a charm. Collected at least 95% of the chips, had to empty the shopvac twice. I had the planer setup in my garage because I knew I would be making lots of chips before I got the dust hood. I milled all the lumber for a 6 ft dining room table with no clogging. Can't wait to get everything into my shop and connected to my dust collection system.

Perfect fit
This dust collection attachment was a perfect fit for my Delta planer. Installation only took a few minutes. Tried it out and it directs nearly all the shavings and dust to my 4” vacuum hose. Price seems high considering this is lightweight plastic construction. I also have a concern that if I’m not careful moving the vacuum and/or hose, the force could crack the plastic. Time will tell. For the cost, it seems this could have been made of steel rather than plastic.

Totally worth it
My only "gripe" is that Delta should make this standard equipment on the TP305 instead of having to buy it as an add-on.That said, the product is as easy as it gets to put on. A few screws and the old one is off and the new one is on. It fits 4" dust collection hose perfectly. I hooked the new planer hood up to my Habour Freight 1HP dust collector. I planed some white oak and with the DC hooked up, nothing was left behind. The new DC adapter for my planer worked perfectly.If you are debating on whether or not it's worth it to buy this adapter, I say "heck yes!" Before I had a DC my planer left chips and dust all over the place. With my DC and this adapter, it's totally clean.

Product was a perfect fit, as advertised. Total install time was less than 5 minutes. Couldn't be easier and using the vacuum is a huge improvement over the planer spitting wood chips on the floor. I gave it 5 stars even though delivery was not up to par. I got a 5 day delivery window promised and it was 2 days beyond the last day before I received my product.

Game Changer
This was exactly what I needed on my old 12" Delta planer. It installed quickly and easily with just a couple of wingnuts and worked well when adapted down to a 2.5" shop vac hose and even better using my 4" dust collector which virtually eliminated even those few remaining chips that come out of the infeed side of the planer. Transforms what is usually a sawdust and chip Monster into a much more manageable cleanup. Would purchase another if this one broke.
