Worked like when it was new.

It fits the standard Garmin mounts, the one that came with the unit from Garmin did not--the hole was to small for the ball mount to fit in. First thing I have ever gotten from Garmin that did not work as advertised or expected--and I have used Garmin units since 1994.This little attachment works fine and is an inexpensive upgrade & fix for a Garmin screw up.

This item is what I needed. The fit is tight but should be ok with minimal use. The part may fail if you push the ball in/out many times since it is tight fit.

Nice that these are available to replace Garmin OEM units that fail to retain their dash-mount GPS displays. The little metal clip inside loses its tension eventually, thus failing to provide sufficient hold on the ball (of ball and socket) on the dash mount suction device.

I bought two of these as spares for my Garmin GPS, so I could use it in different vehicles. One year later both of the knock-off ones are broken and the Garmin one that came with the unit is still working fine - even though it gets used the most. These mounts appear to be slightly thinner plastic, and on both of them the metal spring that holds the ball broke out of the back, dropping my GPS on the floor. They were also much tighter to press on to the ball mount and harder to reposition, which I suspect is why they broke. I bought real Garmin ones to replace them.

Bought these because the original broke. Fits perfect. These are worth having in the glove box if/when the little plastic clip breaks.

Fit to the Garmin Nuvi 2589 is exactly what is required. The ball size of the mount is 17 mm, which fits nicely in this bracket cradle mount.
