Monitor is absolutely beautiful and thank God I finally got a monitor w/o dead pixels!
Monitor is absolutely beautiful and thank God I finally got a monitor w/o dead pixels! The OSD has tons of features way beyond basic brightness/contrast to configure the display. A nice balance of pre-defined settings exist if you just want to turn it on and go. But if you really want to dial in the colors for your needs, the amount of customizing is a blessing. The HDMI port is 2.0 which means you can use it to get native resolution at 60Hz and are not bound to the DisplayPort interface.Amazingly, when doing a monitor test in search for dead pixels, the color shift across the screen is not visible to the human eye (if there even is one). This means solid colors are consistent across every pixel, not something I was expecting at the price point.Cons:The monitor lost connection with the computer a couple times (it thinks the cable was disconnected). I'm hoping that was just some kind of freak occurrence and not a sign of a monitor that might fail on me. Keeping a close eye on that. The stand does not have horizontal rotate or height adjustments which are convenient to have.

Amazing 4K display at an amazing price - not wall mountable with low-quality audio
Ordered this for my 4K gaming machine (1070). It has performed wonderfully. The difference between this and my previous 1080p setup is literally night and day. The colors are fantastic, despite the negative reviews here. I got this on sale from Amazon for $400, I wish I had snagged two. The bezel is thin and the overall design is perfectly clean. There is a built in speaker, it is sufficient if you have no other options, but the sound is from the middle-back of the screen. It is definitely muffled and sounds like garbage. If I had the option, I would have opted out of the audio, but I didn't get this monitor for the audio capabilities. Do not get this with the expectation to replace standard speakers. My only real complaint, which I knew going in, is that this isn't wall-mountable without some other converter component. The stand is designed well, so I didn't take the star for it.Colors: 5/5Refresh: 5/5Bezel: 5/5Mount: 4/5Audio: 2/5

After 70 days it developed bad flicker, Acer offered not advanced replacement service and ...
I'll give it two starts because when it WORKED it was decent. Picked it up as a workstation / office computer and at the time it was the "budget" value choice. After 70 days it developed bad flicker, Acer offered no advanced replacement service and being that it is an essential component I had to look at replacement as weeks of downtime were not going to work. Amazon extended a courtesy and allowed me to return the defective monitor and replace it with another brand thankfully which I appreciate a great deal. I googled the model a bit and found enough anecdotal incidents like mine to shy away from this monitor. At this point more monitors have come to mark in the last 90 days that compete with this in the $400 approx. price range and I'm only righting this review to advise folks they might want to consider the other monitors out there. I don't believe my experience was a fluke.

Excellent IPS UHD monitor
Here are my thoughts on the Acer S277HKDesignFantastic minimalistic design. Remind me of the zero edge TV's that are out now. It really is an attractive monitor, one of the best I have tried.Picture qualityThe UHD picture quality is stunning. The IPS screen is so much better than the TN panel UHD screens that are out there. There isn't any worry of color shifting with this panel.Font size and crispnessThe font crispness is excellent. I find scaling at 150% to be comparable to the font size of a 27" 1440p monitor, but way more crisp. You can get away with 125% on this monitor with a few font adjustments with icons, but I prefer 150%. Tip for Windows 8.1: For programs that look fuzzy or don't scale well: select Properties, then Compatibility, then check "Diable Display Scaling on High DPI Settings". This will make those programs look much better, without the super tiny fonts.I don't think there is much difference between 27" and 28" screens with font size and crispness.Uniformity and IPS glowHere is where the monitor falls short. There are two areas of backlight bleed in both lower corners of the monitor, noticeable on dark scenes. I tried an exchange and I got one that was worse. I may have to overlook this, but at the price I would expect better. There is minimal IPS glow. The backlight bleed is the worst of it.GamingI don't do any heavy gaming, just SWTOR and WOW, so I can't comment on FPS, but I rather enjoyed gaming at 4K. It's hard to give a true review here because I am only running one video card, so while I don't mind the drop in frame rates, many will. I've ranged anywhere from 80-100fps in world exploration in SWTOR to 30-40fps in high action PVP. WOW is much better. There is some screen tearing, and V-sync obviously reduces that, but stuttering of course will be an issue at this refresh rate and high resolution/one graphics card combo. The next generation of graphics card will certainly provide better frame rates. One tip for SWTOR fans - Make your UI larger by opening the interface editor, clicking on a blank area on the screen (not on a ui object), then adjusting the global scaling to its highest level. It scales great.InputsIt makes a good amount of sense to get a 4k monitor with HDMI 2.0, and this one of the only monitors I've seen so far that has it. Of course, as more of the newer monitors come out you will probably see more of them with it as well. No USB ports is not an issue for me. It has the other standard ports as listed.SpeakersHaven't used them as of yet. They are supposed to be better than the tinny Acer speakers that was supplied with the previous generation of Acer 4k monitors, but until my other system gives out I won't be using them.ConclusionFor those looking to take the plunge and be an early adopter of the new 4k monitors, then here it is. You really can't go wrong with the design, as the frameless monitor makes other monitors look clunky and old-school. Serious gamers will probably wait for a monitor with a higher refresh rate, but the rest of us will most likely be happy with this offering, especially with the 3 year warranty from Acer. I'd wait for it to go on a deal then snag it.

Excellent!
I gave this product 4 stars because it had about 1 to 3 pixels that where always white in the bottom right hand corner. After I ordered a replacement, I can now say that this product is in excellent condition and has no flaws what so ever. The boxed was shipped correctly both times and the exchange for the replacement was a breeze. I would definitely order this product again despite having to order a replacement.

Its alright
4k as it says, and looks good. Mine however now constantly makes an electrical hissing noise on the back side. Not sure if its broken. Power button very flimsy too. Lack of Vesa mount very disappointing.

the quality of the image is A1 but I recommend using another screen if you want a long term ...
This screen is just sooo fragile, the power button sticks out so after a small amount of time it just broke down and I still didn't find a way to repair it. Plus, you can hear the current going through the led in the screen thus making a continuous buzzing noise. On the other hand, the quality of the image is A1 but I recommend using another screen if you want a long term relationship with your computer.

Most terrible thing, Don't waste your money !
Horrible product, After buying realized that the On screen display buttons are poorly designed. Moreover, the unit stopped giving any signal after mere 5 months of use. The customer service is beyond terrible, they do not pick up or even give shipping labels and I will really not recommend it to any one. Its 850$ down the drain on this stupidly designed product.

Stuck in PIP mode meaning there is a huge portion of the screen that is useless
Its stuck in PIP mode. Even if I change the settings it just reverts back to PIP and I'm stuck with a black box somewhere on my screen or its so zoomed in I can't see my task back. So annoyed wish I could return it.
