Dora Big Birthday Adventure

My twin girls loved this game in the Apple store. They wanted to stay long after I was done my business there. So I was lucky to find it on Amazon. They got it for their birthday and love it. Teaches them to control the mouse while looking at the screen, comfortable with the keyboard, etc. while it is cute and fun. Little girls who like Dora and Boots will love it.

I am very disappointed with this product. It works fine when I am logged in as "administrator." But when I switch to another user account, such as "kids" there is NOTHING I can do to make it function in that mode. This makes the software pretty much useless to me, as I will not allow my kids to use the computer logged in as administrator, because they will delete things and otherwise make a mess of my files and settings.

The voice for Dora in this game is ridiculously annoying...so much so that I hardly ever let my daughter play it. She is 3 and does OK with it though, it isn't crazy hard, but it will take more practice with the mouse and keyboard for her to really get it down.

The kids loved playing this on the computer and it wasn't difficult to play. My son who is was a beginner with computers (3yrs old) loved playing it.

Some of the activities could not be completed., and it was difficult to get it to change. Most were unable to move onto another one because it kept repeating the same activity.

Seriously, if you are considering buying this product to run on Mac 10.5 or above STOP! It's the first application I ever had trouble installing on a Mac. Once I finally got past the initial installation issues I get a cryptic error message about the platform not being compatable. Well, that's odd, since the package says will work with Mac OS X 10.4 or later. As for support? What support? Their site is useless. I had to get around the installation issue by Google-ing to find a solution! What a total waste of money, I feel so ripped-off it's not even funny. I will NEVER buy a NOVA product again and I will complain to both the BBB and Nikelodeon directly.

We had no problem at all installing this game on a PC running windows XP that is 5-6 years old. The game installed without any issues and played just like it was intended for. No errors or slow game changes. My Toddler is almost 3 and she had a ball playing the game, mastered some of the games on her own and the others she will be able to work on and learn. We love this game and will defiantly recommend this to all our friends. I do see the frustration that others have been talking about, about a lot of PC games, we do have our share of games that were expensive and never worked even on new PC's.. so I understand and feel their concerns, this game however didn't give us any problems at all. Fun to play and we love Dora in our house :-)
