Extra Select Chick Flint Grit Tub, 1 Litre

Grateful to find this very fine flint grit (insoluble, NOT calcium/oyster shell), suitable for very young rescued ducklings, since I couldn't purchase it locally. Happily paid just over a fiver in April 2026. I got lucky, although the tub was not particularly well protected, it arrived unbroken with the lid still on! Happy ducklings, happy me.

I read a few negative reviews about this product & also the packaging & what state orders arrived in, so I was a bit worried about ordering it & what would arrive. Well I should not have worried at all! The packaging was not damaged at all & the grit came well packaged. Once unpacked there was zero damage to the actual tub & the contents looked tiny! Absolutely perfect for our 3 young chicks. I am a Manager in a Childrens home and wanted some small grit and came across this. I am so very glad I did and that I decided to try it! The chicks love it & it was absolutely perfect throughout the whole tub,no large stones in there at all! Amazing product which is why I have ordered another tub & will continue to use this until they move on up to the bigger grit. If this company do the next stage I will definitely be buying & trying that too! It would be good if they did a choice of a bigger tub which is my only negative,though it’s not a deal breaker! I had to order this product three separate times, because I did not receive the first two orders. Both times I received messages advising that they were not delivered as they were "returned to the sender due to being undeliverable because of damage". I finally received a delivery and the contents were intact. The box was quite a bit bigger than the tub and as other reviewers have commented, the brown paper that is relied on to protect the plastic tub isn't sufficient, given that the boxes are likely to be thrown about, or move in transit. The plastic tub is quite thin, so susceptible to breaking if, for example, dropped. Also I would expect vendors to be moving to more sustainable packaging, e.g. strong paper sacks. Having said that, the grit was worth waiting for as it was perfect for my three-week old bantam chicks. The pieces of flint are much smaller than the adult size. My local feed shop hasn't stocked chick grit for some time. My birds have some access to the garden, but I always provide additional grit.

Tub was well sealed and well packaged. Grit is perfect for small chicks as it is fine and a good mix.

The grit itself is great but sent in a cardboard box which has obviously been bashed has made some of it spill out. Lame!

This chick flint grit arrived as described and looks like the photos advertised. This is great value for money considering the size. My quail chicks love it and it’s perfect for their little beaks. It keeps them healthy and happy which is all I care about. It’s very effective and easy to get out the tub albeit a little dusty so be careful! I’m happy though! I will buy again 😀

I used it for my new born chicks. They are loving it and its helping them keep a good digestion.

Ne convient absolument pas à des poussins 1er âge, après peut complémenter une autre alimentation adaptée

Le produit est arrivé exploser Pot casser il y en a de partout, j'ai perdu la moitié en ouvrant le colis

Cher pour ce que c est.et mon poussin n en mange meme pas.

je deconseille de suite cette aliment n'est pas du tout adapter a des poussins j'ai effectivement des poussins qui sont mort a causse de cette nourriture a fuir tout de suite c morceau de pierre .
