Frank Murphy has created a beautiful book! I read this as soon as we got it with my three boys and they loved it! It gave us a lot to talk about! Thank you Frank for reminding the world’s boys what being a boy is really all about! It’s about being kind and being true to yourself. Every home with a little boy should have this book!

From each word of encouragement, advice, and sweet support on each page...telling boys to be themselves, to ask questions, to be brave, and know that it is okay to be scared and cry. A beautiful message of about the power of kindness and being yourself to make this world a better place! The art work of Kayla Harren just boosts my love of this book even higher!! A must buy for your own son(s), for every classroom, and the perfect gift to give of parents of boys!! My new favorite book!!!

My 2.5 year-old has a habit of asking for the same books again and again. Once he finds something he likes, I know I'd better be ready to read it a hundred times. It was like that with A BOY LIKE YOU, but in this case it's never a chore. The message is so beautiful, the illustrations so brilliant, and the heart of the book so strong that I never mind when he asks for "the boy book", even if we've already read it four times that day.

This book is precious!! It is such a good message to boys, and will spark many great conversations with my sons as they grow up!! I bought a copy for my sons and one for my nephew! Every family with young boys needs it! I also love that there is so much diversity represented in the illustrations. All around great book!

This book does a great job of encouraging boys to aspire to be good citizens. It also normalizes emotions which is especially important for many boys who somehow get the message that boys shouldn't have certain emotions. Life lessons which are good for everyone such as "play fair" and "work hard" are emphasized too. Plus it's nice that there are a lot of African American characters in the illustrations.

New favorite picture book!! I read this to my kids and they LOVED it. Illustrations are amazing too. The message is so powerful and it really hit home for my son AND daughter!!

Brilliant book illustrating how boys can be different and celebrate those differences. How the world needs them in all their shapes and sizes, with all their skills, interests and passions.Very positive representation. I chose it because the boy in the middle of the cover (and many of the boys featured on the cover and inside) is of African heritage, just as my sons are.

Two sons, both very different personalities and I feel this book beautifully covers what I wanted it to in terms of how to be an decent boy and ignore toxic masculinity. Great for a book that includes diversity too.

I bought this book, as I want to raise my boys to be the best they can be, whatever that may be and also to teach them some basic life lessons. Great illustration and a diverse set of images.
