Mosquito Dunk Tablet, 20 Count (Pack of 1)

Before getting into the nitty gritty of my review it’s worth noting that I live in eastern NC and the mosquitos are insane compared to what I am used to when I lived in south New Jersey. My youngest child has skeeter syndrome. I started using these around mid-April of 2025 and the difference in our yard has honestly been massive. We went from getting eaten alive by mosquitoes to being able to stay outside in the evenings without being eaten alive by the bugs. My kids are out there for hours, sometimes until after 8pm, and we’re usually coming inside because it’s bedtime, not because of mosquitoes. One of my kids is very sensitive to mosquito bites, so finding something that actually helps without spraying the whole yard has been a big deal for us. I use them by breaking a dunk into 4 pieces and placing them in buckets of standing water around the yard (sometimes called “doom buckets”). The idea is that mosquitoes lay eggs in the water, and when the larvae hatch, they eat the BTI in the dunk and die. It works quietly in the background without much effort once it’s set up. I noticed a change in the mosquito population in my yard within 10 days. We had no new mosquito bites by week 3. I also like that it’s safe to use around kids, pets, and wildlife, which was important to me. I just refresh them about once a month and don’t have to think about it much in between. I have a calendar event in my phone that goes off every 25 days to remind me to toss in a new dunk piece. It’s not going to make your yard 100% mosquito-free, but it has made a very noticeable difference for us and made being outside much more enjoyable. Pros: Noticeably reduces mosquitoes Easy to use Low maintenance Safe to use around kids and pets Insanely cheap compared to yard sprays that don’t work Cons: Have to consistently use if you actually want to control mosquitos If humidity is high (like within 24 hours of rain) mosquitos will still be hanging out around your property. You need to keep leaf litter cleaned up as mosquitos are attracted to the smell of decaying leaves.

Love these! Exactly what I was looking for! Easy to use, love that they're pet friendly and can tell a difference in the mosquitoes! We have buckets around the yard just for these and we put them in the dogs kiddie pool! Kills the larve so the sooner you get them out there, the more of a difference you'll have!

these things are great. mass destruction of mosquitos, and easy. drop one tab a month in the bucket, and done. also the ingredients are just about the safest mosquito control you can find.

Works well with the right set up. -1 star because I can't imagine a more frustrating packaging.

I had a huge mosquito problem due to still water from indoor plants and also still water from outside. For the inside smaller plants, I broke the dunks into bits of 6 around the home and routinely check that the dunks are still intact and functioning as intended, and then I threw a whole dunk in an outside huge bucket. I haven't seen any mosquitos since and my plants are still alive and unaffected by the dunk.

Excellent. From day 1 inserting them in a “bucket of doom” with a sprinkle of fertilizer for bug attraction, zwas effective. Great that it’s non toxic for everything except mosquitoes.

Frustrating that these make a big ugly mess and my turtles end up eating a lot of it during feeding sessions. These quickly destroyed the larvae growing in my patio pond.

These mosquito dunks are always a must-have during Midwest summers. They help control mosquito breeding in standing water and are very easy to use. I keep them on hand every season to help reduce mosquitoes around the yard. A reliable solution for outdoor areas.

Seen a reduced number of moskitos in the area since using these. I pop one in my drain ever month.

Delivered efficiently, haven't tried it yet, I'll be looking out for an instruction video. Seems simple enough to use . . . for efficacy and ease of use, I will get back to you.

great product appeared to work straight away. Update:- 3/06/20 just finished this card of dunks, only use on a large Koi pond to maintain, all the aquatic bugs ( mozzies, black, fruit flies etc.... ) Again only use in the spring/summer here in the UK, very temperature dependant, but they certainly break up the life cycles, I bought an expensive U/V, professional light tube zapper, before finding these! The zapper has not been used for years? The downside is that the product only appears to be available in USA? So the price with shipping, has more than doubled? Why? This makes them prohibitive now. Looks like the Zapper will make a comeback!!!
