Beatrice Home Fashions Medallion Chenille Bedspread, Queen, Blush

I had to write this review because I rely heavily on other people's reviews. That said, I'll begin by saying that I just received my chenille bedspread and I'm 100% happy with my purchase. I smiled hugely when I opened the box because, although I was slightly anxious when I ordered it because of the reviews that dealt with size and thickness (or thinness), I knew immediately that I had made the right decision.(1) This is truly a vintage-inspired bedspread -- just like Grammy used to have. I was slightly concerned because the picture makes it look puffy. It's not.(2) It's thin but not in a cheap way. You can see through the non-embellished parts to the same degree you can see through quality, unlined, white linen pants. If you're not wearing a leopard print thong underneath, you're fine. (Ladies, you know what I'm talking about.) One of the pictures shows my hand under the bedspread, so you can see for yourself.(3) I love the fringe! The picture makes it look as though a separate piece was sewn on. This is not the case. The fringe is an extension of the bedspread, as it should be.(4) Here, I will explain the size in detail. The king spread claims it's 118x120. I didn't measure it; however, if you look at my pictures, you can determine whether or not it will work for you. I have a king (76"x80") Saatva bed with a 14.5" mattress and an 8.75" foundation. Combined with the frame, which is 8" from the floor, my bed sits about 33+" high. (I know that's higher than the math would tell you, but it is what it is.) You can see in my pics that the king spread hits the bed frame. Since I haven't found a bigger spread, this is fine with me. I will be ordering a bedskirt. No big deal.(5) Shams. Again, as you can see in my pictures, you do not need shams. If you place the spread evenly on the bed so that it hits the frame in the same place all the way around, you have more than enough to cover your pillows. Of course, if you want them as decorative accents, go for it.(6) Lint. I don't know what some others are referring to, but it doesn't appear to be extraordinarily linty. I shook it out, put it on, no issues. Maybe after washing, there'll be lots of lint in the dryer. We'll see. I wanted to put it on first so that I could take pictures and help others make their decision, since my search for a quality, inexpensive bedspread took more than 3 weeks.I hope this was helpful. I can't imagine anyone being unhappy with this beautiful bedspread.

I'm not sure if previous reviewers understand chenille. I am 68 and don't believe I have ever been without a chenille bedspread. Some as old as 1930. This one is equal to the beauty of most. Yes, they have lint, like most 100% cotton like wool rugs. Vacuum for a year and still shedding. Awe the beauty.Wool rugs are the worst, but far more beautiful than polypropylene.Personally, a cotton sheet under thisbedspread is all I have ever needed in ICY Michigan or snowy Utah. Always go with natural fabrics, but I'm a hippie at heart. No I don't work for this company, I just love to steer people to the efforts of beauty. There's always work.

I used this bed spread in a non traditional way by purchasing a Queen to lay at the end of my King size bed. That is why it doesn't go all the way to the ground like other review pictures do. I absolutely adore it! It's everything I could have asked it to be plus more! It's so beautiful in person and I get so many compliments on it! 10 out of 10 would recommend this to anyone thinking of purchasing it! The low price compared to department stores had/has me excited as well! If you see it and like it, DEFINITEY buy it!! Love love love mine!!

My spread and shams came today. I love them. I put them in the dryer to fluff them up. I have a queen size bed, but I ordered the spread in king size to get the drop to the floor and also I think it may shrink a bit when I wash it. It looks pretty darn good to me. I only ordered the shams because I really like shams, but one could make up the bed using only the spread. I would totally recommend these items to a friend.

I can't speak to its durability yet, but it is exactly what I expected it to be. I have included a picture to help those trying to decide which size to purchase. We have a queen size bed used with bed risers. I ordered a king size and it is the perfect fit.

Thickness:I've had this bedspread for about three weeks. I was looking for a thinner bedspread because I don't like to be hot when I sleep. The other reviews indicated that it was thin, and it is (I mean, it IS chenille) but it's exactly what I wanted. In the picture it appears to be fluffy, but it isn't. It looks like they have placed it over a duvet to make it look thicker, which is what I may do during the winter if I need to.See-through:Some people mentioned that it is see-through. It is slightly, but it's not a problem. I currently have dark gray sheets under it and you can't see the gray; however it does give it a slightly darker look vs when I use white sheets. You would never know that I had dark sheets. I've not tried it with a patterned sheet so I'm not sure if you would be able to see through those. You can see in my pic that I have three pillows- two have gray pillow cases and the one in the middle has a white pillow case.Beautiful:It is absolutely gorgeous. I was afraid that it would be too grandmotherly looking, but I don't think that it is. It's very classic and tasteful.Fuzz:O m g. Believe the other reviewers. I should have, because it caused my lint trap to fill completely up and actually back up in my vents. Totally my fault. I was prepared to empty the lint trap after the cycle, but not during. So make sure you empty it out two or three times during the cycle! I'm still waking up with bits of fuzz on me and it's on my carpet. It's not too bad and I suspect after a second washing/drying it will improve.

Spread was far nicer than I expected. I ordered a king size because reviews said the queen was too short. I kept the king size but it is too big for my queen bed which is quite high.I just drape it on the side not seen. It washed beautifully and despite the reviews it did not shed much at all. I am so thrilled with this spread and it looks awesome on my antique bed.

Love it..just a few of the fringe bits are shorter and not right at all..otherwise it's so nice good quality

Good quality, lovely large sized and attractive bedspread.

First, this really is a lovely chenille bedspread. However, the sizing is very questionable. There is no way this will fit a king size bed as it is already too small even with a bedskirt. I tried in on a queen size bed and it fits although you still would need a bedskirt as it doesn't come near the floor. I finally put it on a 3/4 bed - smaller than a double bed but larger than a single - and it fits perfectly, just skimming the floor. However, please take into account that it is 100% cotton so will undoubtedly shrink when washed. The main reason I decided to keep it, although I am still looking for a king size bedspread, is because it is a really beautiful, reasonably priced, chenille bedspread. Also, the hassle of returning it isn't worth it. Hope this helps someone else!

This is advertised as a bedspread and all you get is 1 x Pillowcase.ABSOLUTE SCAM!I read the reviews and as I am an amazon seller myself - I happen to know the rules etc of selling and Amazon is always very strict and yet these reviews have not been good and Amazon is still selling this product. WHY?????The package only felt very light when it arrived so i feared that was the case ! when i opened - very small package and as per my photos it was labelled as a "Medallion Chenille Sham" - With photo of complete bed with the beadspread. but the title on the order page has "Beatrice Home Fashions Medallion Chenille Bedspread, Chenille, Ivory, Standard"Not fair and i am asking for full refund.DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT - 1 pillowcase.Not a happy camper :(
