this is a great canopy!!!
I bought one three years ago from sports authority.. I think it was almost 40$ plus tax..i still have it.. and use it on the beach.. it's not difficult to put up.. I can put it up in the wind on the beach in less than five mins.. I did buy some long tent stakes to hold it in the sand.. it has served me well in those three years.. so when I saw this one for less than twenty two plus shipping I knew it would be a great thing.. the one I have has stood up to thunder storms on the beach.. and kept us dry..i don't understand how someone says it didn't keep them from sunburn.. its a sun shade.. I would have to think the material not allowing the sun to pass through would deter sun burn.. like I said I use it on the beach.. my irish fair skinned wife. is able to now go to the beach and not fry.. . we've used it camping too. even in the back yard. we love this shelter.. to be fair it is a bit of a handful to put away on the beach. we usually just stuff it in an extra chair bag.. reset it at home.. to wash and dry. get all the sand out..lol. . in the yard.. its much easier to properly put it back in the compact bag that it came in.. ready for the next time. bottom line.. this is a great sun screen.. light.. compact.. but very roomy.. six feet head room at front pole.. nine feet across. more than enough room for two chairs and a table. at the beach.. it has been durable.. and sturdy ,the ferrules on the poles are starting to rust.. but that is to be expected used at the beach.. its kept us dry and out of the summer sun for three years.. and still going .. like I said I bought this one for back up.. it is exactly the same as the one for twice as much in the store. don't pass this up..

I wanted to love this shelter and I kind of do except the picture is a lie. I thought that was a bottom (floor) on it based on this picture but now I realize it's a shadow. Yes, as others have said it isn't the easiest thing to put together and takes a little maneuvering especially if you're by yourself or have little ones to watch after at the same time. Once you get it up though, I love the size of it! There was plenty of space for 3 adults and 2 tots to relax and enjoy a day at the beach. I just wish it was a popup type though. (Sorry, the only pic I took was of a little bit of the side of it and the beautiful beach) So overall, it's nice and definitely serves the purpose. It probably took 15 minutes to setup, 10 for my husband to bumble around with it and unload it and 5 for me to say gimme the directions, now do this and we were done.

I am not typically one to write poor reviews but I was very disappointed in this product
I am not typically one to write poor reviews but I was very disappointed in this product. I was looking for something I could take to youth football and soccer games on the weekends to provide a little shelter for my kiddos. It is not easy to assemble. The poles take quite a bit to put together and run through the tent and I found it easiest with two people (not something I could do alone like I'd hoped). It's also not a quick unassembly either. in trying to pack it back up, the material the poles are made of actually splintered and left a splinter in my hand. Once assembled it was spacious but not an easy setup it take down.

Not a one person job
It’s nice once you get it up. It comes compact in a carrying case. It took 2 of us to get it up. The directions didn’t really help. Luckily someone of the beach had one similar and we just looked at theirs. Once we realized how it went it went up pretty easy. It was just a lot on a hot and crowded beach. Taking it down was a breeze.

Works Great for a Sandbox Cover
I purchased this to use over my boys sandbox to protect them from direct sun light. It was super easy to put up, probably because I am used to putting up tents, and it is just like a tent. It took me a long time to find a shelter that did not have a bottom/floor on it, but this one was perfect. Previously we had a canopy over the sandbox, but we were always having to move it when it got super windy because it stood so much higher. With this canopy, it is much lower to the ground, and the wind can blow right through it. If we have a super bad storm, then I would definitely take it down. Because it is super easy to take down, we will be taking it with us to the beach and other outdoor activities as you can sit under it with your chairs and have enough room. It will always be perfect for the beach, because like the sandbox you can be under the cover and still play in the sand. It comes with its own carrying case, so when you take it down you can store it easily. I may purchase another one though because it is really well priced and then I wouldn't have to take the one down over the sandbox. My parents already ordered one after they saw how great mine was.

Great value
Little tricky to put together but an awesome shelter. No floor in it which is great for kids to play in the sand & be sheltered from sun & wind. The anchors need a little extra if it’s windy but overall it’s s great value.

Needed: Engineering Degree, Patience and Four Hands
Just say no. Not only did a tie break off the first time I put this together, but it had already taken me ages to sort it all out to get together. It won't free-stand - needs to be inserted into sand or grass - and should the wind pick up you're pretty screwed (weighted bags or nothing). It is compact - folds into a small carrying case that I easily checked in my luggage - but unless you have a ton of space to spread out, no wind, and two people with two able hands to put this together, you'd be advised to continue shopping. If you think you're more dexterous and still go ahead and purchase, you will find that this is quite large with ample width and height for two (or perhaps three) people.

This seemed like a good idea for my grandson's soccer team's fold up bench at soccer games, to give them some shelter from the sun. It is very light weight compared to a regular canopy & was easy to carry to the games along with all the other equipment. The dimensions given were the perfect size. The problem is the difficult assembly. It took 4 of us to assemble it, and then to disassemble. My son who is the team coach says it's not worth the trouble of setting it up. Would not recommend it for this purpose.
